We have a new HBO drama to tune into every Sunday night, folks! The acclaimed network hasn’t missed this year with huge releases like Mare of Easttown and The White Lotus, and we have a feeling this new series is going to be another hit. However, it might not be for everybody. Scenes from a Marriage is incredibly emotional, and episode 1 proves that.

Based on the Swedish miniseries of the same name directed by Ingmar Bergman, the new version stars Academy Award nominee Jessica Chastain and Golden Globe winner Oscar Isaac as a married couple living in America. Written and directed by Hagai Levi (The Affair, In Treatment), this show already had some hype around it, and the buzz only grew when the two stars walked the red carpet together at the Venice Film Festival last weekend.

Though Isaac and Chastain are not together in real life, they do a darn good job at convincing people otherwise, and we know their performances in Scenes of a Marriage are about to be top-tier. The premiere hits HBO and HBO Max tonight, and you don’t want to miss it.

What is Scenes from a Marriage about?

Similar to the storyline of the original, Scenes from a Marriage (2021) follows Jonathan (Isaac) and Mira (Chastain), a married couple who face their fair share of ups and downs.
