Tonight’s episode of American Idol marked the first results show where it was up to the voters at home to decide who’s staying in the competition. We now have this season’s Top 20.

Following the Top 24 performances at Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawaii, contestants made it back to Hollywood for the results. Once they were announced, the remaining Top 20 contestants performed for judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie. Now, it’s up to America once again to choose who will stay, and those results will be revealed tomorrow night.

Last week, host Ryan Seacrest announced that Platinum Ticket winner Kenedi Anderson left the show due to “personal reasons.” This was a big surprise to fans as she was expected to make it far in the competition.

And she’s not the only one to make an exit. We now have the Top 20, which means there are some contestants who went home.

Who made the American Idol Top 20?

Who went home on American Idol?

The Idol journey certainly isn’t an easy one. And it’s only going to continue getting harder for the aspiring singers. The competition said goodbye to some talented people tonight.

Here’s who went home:

  • Danielle Finn, 17
  • Scarlet Aliz, 18
  • Sir Blayke, 28

Prior to Sunday’s Top 20 reveal, we said goodbye to Kenedi Anderson, who departed the series for personal reasons ahead of the Top 24’s live performance show on Sunday night.

Monday night’s episode will be just as difficult, if not more for the Idol hopefuls. Tomorrow’s round will see the Top 20 become the Top 14. America’s votes will put 10 contestants through, with the judges choosing four others.

American Idol airs Sunday and Monday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC, and episodes are available to stream on Hulu the next day they air.
