Hop on and let’s take flight into our recap. Here’s everything you need to know about The Flight Attendant season 2 episode 3!

The Flight Attendant season 2 episode 3 recap

Tracking down Megan in Iceland

In episode 2, Megan sends her son Eli a Snap Chat with a chain of emojis that she needs him to forward to Cassie. Cassie is able to crack the code and comes to the conclusion that Megan needs her help in Iceland. After a funny sequence of Cassie trying to get a seat on the flight from a very annoying Carole, and resorting to blackmail to do it, she’s on her way to Iceland. But she isn’t the only one. Flight attendant and CIA friend Shane is also on the flight which isn’t good for Cassie because Megan is a fugitive the American government is looking for.

Cassie tries to find her friend in hiding at places they used to frequent together in the European country. We see flashes of their times drinking. Perhaps Cassie is missing the party girl life? It seems like Shane is following her and after playing it off, they go in to have a decapitated sheep’s head. Yum. But Shane isn’t easily fooled and has his suspicions as to why Cassie is really in Iceland. And we find out Shane has been trying to track down Megan for the past year.

The episode ends with Cassie managing to find Megan, thanks to a happy coincidence at Cassie’s AA meeting (more on this later). But Megan isn’t happy to see her friend. With her being there, she’s put both of them in danger. Of course, Cassie is confused.

Drinking struggles

Like with any recovery, there are times when someone struggles and is tempted to just take one drink. Cassie is dealing with this as everything is starting to pile up. She’s paranoid about every blonde she passes. And, in case she needed more on her plate, her wannabe lookalike bought some questionable items from the hardware store using her credit card. You know, the typical chains, tarps, and ropes. Thanks to Annie’s extensive knowledge on the subject, she tells Cassie it’s what people use to hide dead bodies.

All of the drama in Cassie’s life is too much and is rightfully making her feel anxious which is when she really feels like she needs a drink. The party girl version of herself in her Mind World taunts her to just take the drink, but Cassie is stronger and doesn’t do it. She does the responsible thing (after a mini breakdown) and finds an AA meeting in Iceland. That’s where she finds a guy who knows Megan.

Trouble in paradise for Max and Annie

Max is very excited to introduce Annie to his parents, not just as a girlfriend but as his fiancé. But not everything goes smoothly. Annie takes her ring off before heading inside, much to his disappointment. Annie is the first girl he’s brought home, but Max tries to downplay it because he knows how jumpy she can be when it comes to feelings. His parents talk about their “drafted plans” for the couple’s future which includes kids. This is something Annie most definitely doesn’t want, which Max is taken aback by.

The couple has a bit of an argument but before they can continue talking about it, Esteban and his wife Gabrielle break into Cassie’s house and knock out the couple. Yeah, they’re definitely up to no good seeing as they bugged the home and followed the two to Max’s parent’s house. Also, why did they both dye their hair blonde?

When the couple was at his parent’s home, Max’s dad shows them an old car he has. Annie notices the look of the license plate is familiar. It matches the slide of a license plate on the View Master. It turns out it’s a German plate, one attached to the car that blew up in Berlin. But how are the car and Echo Park lake (which Cassie, Annie, and Max visited in episode 2) connected?

Things to keep an eye on

There’s another Cassie in the Mind World now. This one is the more responsible one who makes “good choices.”

When the CIA director and Cassie’s handler Benjamin talk, they mention the flight attendant doesn’t know the explosion in Berlin wasn’t just a gas line explosion… so what actually happened?

Davey asks Cassie if she would want to be a part of Jenny’s podcast. This keeps coming up, it’s got to play a bigger role down the line.

Cassie is dodging poor Marco. That’s not going to be good for their relationship.

The Flight Attendant will be back next week with episode 5 on HBO Max
