After a devastating day of show cancellations announced Thursday, May 12, some fans might be wondering about their favorite reality TV show Survivor. Both the CW and CBS dropped many shows a day prior to Friday the 13, which might make fans wonder how much worse can it be. Will their favorite Wednesday night show also get voted off the CBS scheduling island?

Survivor is currently in the last couple of weeks of season 42, with the season finale landing on Wednesday, May 25. Both the last and current seasons have seen a change in its structure, moving from a 39-day game to 26 days. It’s not clear if the show will continue with this format, but fans can in fact breathe a sigh of relief. Fortunately, the season finale will not turn into a devastating series finale.

Is Survivor cancelled?

The hit reality TV show will see the light of day after season 42 wraps up, which means the age of backstabbing, strategic play and intense challenges will continue. It’s been reported that Survivor will see another two seasons air on CBS, which will hopefully comfort some fans to know they’ve avoided the axe other shows have recently been given.

Although some fans might enjoy seeing some of the newest Survivor twists get the axe, the show will still be around for them to worry about those problems in the future. Survivor has been renewed for seasons 43 and 44, so at least there’s some good news to take away from the recent string of cancellations being dealt out. In Survivor terms, they’ve been given immunity and cannot be voted out for another year. Fans of the reality show are happy about the news.
