Another real-life series of events have been adapted into a film. The latest one in this genre is Emancipation. The movie is now in theaters. But is there a way to watch it online?

The production is based on the 1863 photos of an escaped slave, “Whipped Peter.” They were taken during a medical examination and appeared in Harper’s Weekly. The images were a big driving force that led to increasing public opposition against slavery, according to a press release.

In the film, actor Will Smith will play Peter who escapes from slavery, and uses his faith and love for his family to keep on fighting towards freedom. Joining Smith are Ben Foster as Jim Fassel, Charmaine Bingwa as Dodienne, Gilbert Owuor as Gordon, Mustafa Shakir as Lt. Andrew Cailloux, Steven Ogg as Howard, Grant Harvey as Leeds, Ronnie Gene Blevins as Harrington Michael Luwoye as John, and Aaron Moten as Knowls.

Imani Pullum, Jayson Warner Smith, and Jabbar Lewis also round out the cast. So is there any where you can watch this movie online? We’ve got the answer for you below!
