Every HBO Max show cancelled in 2022

HBO Max has cancelled so many favorites this year. And the saddest thing is, the cancellations keep on coming at the time of this writing. If you weren’t able to keep track of every show cancelled on HBO Max, we’ve got you!

Over the summer, Hidden Remote put together a list of shows cancelled on HBO Max so far this year. We didn’t think many others would follow, but we were wrong. But why did HBO kick out so many shows, and so quickly? We can blame the merger between HBO Max and Discovery+.

Every HBO Max show cancelled in 2022 (and some movies)

  • Batgirl
  • Scoob!: Holiday Haunt
  • Raised by Wolves
  • Made for Love
  • Time Traveler’s Wife
  • Close Enough
  • Gordita Chronicles
  • Little Ellen
  • Wonder Twins
  • Strange Adventures
  • Batman: Caped Crusader
  • Merry Little Batman
  • The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie
  • Bye Bye Bunny: A Looney Tunes Musical
  • Did I Do That to the Holidays: A Steve Urkel Story
  • The Amazing World of Gumball: The Movie
  • Demimonde
  • Legendary
  • FBOY Island
  • Sweet Life: Los Angeles

From this list, Batgirl and Batman: Caped Crusader were the most shocking cancellations as I was really looking forward to them both. And while FBOY Island doesn’t come as a surprise (both seasons were awful), it did make us wonder what the streaming platform’s plans could be. Sweet Life: Los Angeles and were also recently cancelled, so is HBO Max getting rid of reality TV? Not quite so. Or, at least, not yet! The unscripted shows that remain, include Selena + Chef, The Big Brunch, Kraftopia, and The Hype.

Which HBO Max show (or movie) cancellation surprised you the most? Did we miss any shows that HBO Max let go this year?

HBO Max shows returning

There’s still a lot to look forward to, though! We’ve got Succession, House of the Dragon, Euphoria, Barry, The White Lotus, and many other favorites. Which show are you looking forward to watching the most?
