A new month means new content is arriving (and also leaving) streaming platforms such as HBO Max. Unfortunately, even though HBO Max is our favorite streamer when it comes to big feature films, not much is happening at the streamer in the month of February.
HBO Max has been doing a great job keeping subscribers entertained with a large menu of original movies, original shows, and classic favorites. But Netflix, Peacock, and Apple TV+ are taking all of the attention. Still, there are a few movies and shows worth your time. Here are our top recommendations.
Movies and shows on HBO Max not to miss in February
- All That Breathes, Feb. 7
- Harley Quinn: A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day Special, Feb. 9
- Puppy Bowl XIX, Feb. 12
- Poor Devil (Pobre Diablo), Feb. 17
The film All That Breathes received multiple nominations, including a Best Documentary nomination from the Academy Awards. If you missed the movie when it first premiered, Feb. 7 is your chance to stream it on HBO Max. Another highlight is Harley Quinn: A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day Special, a standalone 44-minute special episode.
Movies and shows on HBO Max to skip in February
- The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, extended version, Feb. 3
Okay, I am not a fan of The Hobbit, so maybe my suggestion to skip it doesn’t count. But do you really want to rewatch a longer version of a movie you’ve already seen? Instead, why not check out one of the new movies coming out?
Some movies to watch, include Unlocked and The Strays, both on Netflix later this month. At Midnight on Paramount+ is another movie we look forward to watching on Feb. 10. Finally, we recommend keeping an eye on Sharper, coming to Apple TV+ on Feb. 17. What will you be watching this month on HBO Max?
