How many Pac-12 teams made the 2023 NCAA Tournament?
By Bryce Olin
The Pac-12 had a decent showing during Selection Sunday. There are four teams in the 2023 NCAA Tournament field from the Pac-12 led by the UCLA Bruins and the Arizona Wildcats, which are seed No. 2 in their respective regions.
Overall, the Pac-12 is down pretty far on the list of the total teams in the field compared to the other conferences like the Big Ten, SEC, and Big 12. There’s only one more ACC team than Pac-12 teams in March Madness.
UCLA and Arizona are well-positioned to make deep runs in the NCAA Tournament this year. UCLA looks better suited, but they lost Jaylen Clark, a major contributor, for the season. Arizona was undefeated heading into the Pac-12 regular season and made some uncharacteristic stumbles before downing UCLA in the Pac-12 championship game. I think UCLA has the better road to the Final Four, but they’ll have to go through Gonzaga or TCU and Kansas to get there.
Here is the full March Madness bracket.
Pac-12 teams in the 2023 NCAA Tournament
- UCLA Bruins (2-seed)
- Arizona Wildcats (2-seed)
- USC Trojans (10-seed)
- Arizona State (11-seed)
Did Oregon make the NCAA Tournament?
Unfortunately, the Oregon Ducks didn’t make the tournament this year. The Ducks weren’t even among the First Four Out, meaning they weren’t even that close to making the tournament despite owning wins over Arizona, Arizona State, and USC during the regular season. There weren’t many other Pac-12 teams in consideration for the NCAA Tournament.
You can watch the NCAA Tournament on a variety of live-streaming platforms, including FuboTV, Hulu + Live TV, DIRECTV, YouTube TV, Sling TV, and more. If you’re going to be watching UCLA, Arizona, Arizona State, and USC in this year’s tournament, you’re going to want to know when. We’ll share more information as the schedule is released.
