Yellowstone season 5 part 2 is coming in November 2023

Production on Yellowstone season 5 part 2 has been a hot mess. Fans have been waiting to get more of the Dutton family’s story since the first half of the season premiered, and episode 8 aired in January 2023 on the Paramount Network. Unfortunately as another month passes by, there’s still no new episodes of the Western drama.

However now, we do have a release window. November 2023! Plus, the Paramount Network has confirmed that season 5 is the last. It’s almost time to say goodbye to the beloved show when part 2 premieres.

The show stars Kevin Costner, Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Brecken Merrill, Jefferson White, Forrie Smith, Denim Richards, Ian Bohen, Finn Little, Ryan Bingham, Gil Birmingham, Jen Landon, and Kathryn Kelly.

When is Yellowstone season 5 part 2 coming to Paramount?

Unfortunately at the time of this writing, Yellowstone season 5 part 2 does not have an official release date yet. All we know is that the Paramount Network series will be back sometime this winter in November.

Initially, the plan was for the series to return with the second half in summer 2023, but that’s impossible at this point. The cast gave a filming update at PaleyFest in April 2023. According to Variety, cast members said the cameras have not even started rolling yet on part 2. And they don’t know when they are set to head back and begin production again.

However, Deadline now reports that filming on the final set of episodes should begin in August. It’s not clear whether all the scripts have been written, which could put a further delay if they’re not with the WGA strike. We also don’t know if Costner will be a part of part 2.

Amid the reported drama between Costner and series creator Taylor Sheridan, we’ll have to wait and see what the story will look like. One rumored reason for the tensions is that Costner was looking to have less time on the set of Yellowstone so he can focus on his other projects. The lead of the Paramount series probably has his focus set on his own Western film, Horizon: An American Saga, which he is directing, co-writing, and producing. According to Deadline, the movie also sees the return of Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Ella Hunt, Will Patton, Luke Wilson, Isabelle Fuhrman and Thomas Haden Church. Glynn Turman, Kathleen Quinlan, and Giovanni Ribisi have been cast.

While the main series is coming to an end, it’s been confirmed that another spin-off in the Yellowstone universe is in the works, most likely to star Matthew McConaughey. It’s set to premiere in December 2023.
