The last few seasons of American Horror Story may be very hit and miss, but the anthology series continues to attract high ratings for the FX network. I believe a large part of the reason why this is, is the AHS cast of beloved (and talented) actors and the characters they have portrayed. So, who will be coming back for another round? Here are a few American Horror Story actors who probably won’t be back in season 12.

The upcoming season is titled American Horror Story: Delicate. The complete cast list, but we do know (thanks to AHS Zone on Twitter) that Emma Roberts, Kim Kardashian, Matt Czuchry, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Denis O’Hare, and Julie White are all starring. And, previously revealed by the source, expected to star are also Cara Delevingne, Annabelle Dexter-Jones, Odessa A’zion, Billie Lourd, and Debra Monk. Finally, Zachary Quinto also shared he will be back in a cameo role.

Other than O’Hare, Roberts, and Quinto, we’re not expecting any other former AHS cast member to appear in Delicate. Of course, if anything changes, you’ll be the first to know! In the meantime, here’s who we can cross out of our list.

Evan Peters will definitely not be back in American Horror Story season 12

AHS favorite Evan Peters has starred in nine out of the (soon to be) 12 seasons. The only chapters Peters skipped are season 9, season 11, and the upcoming season 12. As a fan of the actor, I do hope he returns in a future season, but, in the meantime, it has been great seeing him explore other roles.

Sarah Paulson will probably not be back in American Horror Story season 12

Just like Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson has also starred in nine seasons of FX’s American Horror Story. Paulson is currently enjoying a long break. The star does make an appearance in an episode of Hulu’s The Bear, her first role in a couple of years. However, her staying out of AHS season 12 is a sure thing.

Jessica Lange will definitely not be back in American Horror Story season 12

AHS Queen Jessica Lange left the show after American Horror Story: Freak Show, where she portrays the deranged Elsa Mars. The star does briefly return in season 8, reprising her role as Constance Langdon. It’s a very safe bet that Lange won’t be appearing in any capacity come season 12.

Kathy Bates will probably not be back in American Horror Story season 12

No official news yet on Kathy Bates, an AHS favorite, but she’s not expecting to star in the upcoming season.

Lily Rabe will probably not be back in American Horror Story season 12

While there has not been an official announcement on Lily Rabe’s involvement in the upcoming season, we likely would have heard something by now. After all, Rabe is an AHS regular! We’ll keep you posted.

Taissa Farmiga will definitely not be back in American Horror Story season 12

Let’s be honest, seeing Taissa Farmiga return to Ryan Murphy’s world of horrors would be a DREAM! She may not have starred in as many seasons as some of the other AHS originals, but her presence and characters have made a huge impact. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like she’s involved in any way in the upcoming season.

It looks like the upcoming season will be introducing longtime fans to some new faces, and we’re here for it! Be sure to keep this page bookmarked as we’ll be updating it with more information as it surfaces.
