Fargo is coming back for another season of dark comedy crime antics! But who is who in the new season of the crime anthology? Find out here!

Based on the Oscar-winning 1996 movie, Fargo is an FX anthology series set around the Dakotas. Each season takes place in a different time period with a different cast but is laced with the same black comedy and wild antics.

The new season is set in 2019 and centers around Dot, a woman who gets kidnapped. Given this is Fargo, the whole thing goes pear-shaped, with Dot soon discovering it’s the lead cop, not the crooks, that she has to worry about. It looks like another wild and fun ride, here’s who’s in the cast!

Juno Temple as Dorothy “Dot” Lyon

Dorothy “Dot” Lyon is a millionaire’s housewife but also a flighty woman, so her family honestly suspects she’s faking the kidnapping for money. As it happens, Dot is truly abducted, but there’s more to her than meets the eye as she engages in a battle of wits with her kidnappers.

Where have you seen Juno Temple before?: The British actress has been notable for roles like Notes on a Scandal, The Three Musketeers, Atonement and others while also TV shows like Vinyl and The Offer. She’s probably best known for her role as Keely Jones in the Apple TV+ hit Ted Lasso. Hearing her with an American accent will be interesting but add more fun to her part.

Jon Hamm as Sheriff Roy Tillman

Sheriff Roy Tillman is a tough lawman who tracks down Dot. However, rather than being a nice guy, Tillman is old school to the extreme. That includes thinking women are subservient to men and other attitudes that clash with modern times. That may make him as much a threat to solving this case as the kidnappers.

Where have you seen Jon Hamm before?: From his Emmy-winning role as Don Draper in Mad Men, Jon Hamm has been a regular face in movies and television. They include 30 Rock, Shrek, The Town, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Top Gun: Maverick, and more. This makes Hamm perfect for a guy who seems a typical hero but has a darker side that should spark up the show.

Jennifer Jason Leigh as Lorraine Lyon

Dot’s mother is a cold woman obsessed with the family name and fortune. She and Dot have never gotten along well, and Lorraine thinks Dot is faking the whole kidnapping for more money. Their tough relationship is likely going to pop up more as the season goes on.

Where have you seen Jennifer Jason Leigh before?: Breaking out in the classic 1980s comedy Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Jennifer Jason Leigh has been a constant presence in movies and TV shows for 40 years. Her credits include Backdraft, Single White Female, The Hateful Eight, Annihilation and more. She should bring that experience to playing this cold role.

Joe Keery as Gator Tillman

Roy’s son is a chip off the old block. Meaning, he’s as backward, misogynistic and short-minded as his dad is. The clashes between them can be dangerous as the pair seem less inclined to enforce the law than what they think it should be, which can mar the investigation.

Where have you seen Joe Keery before?: Anyone who’s watched Stranger Things will recognize Joe Keery as Steve Harrington. He also starred in Free Guy and in his spare time releases albums under the name of Djo. That should make for a fun dynamic between him and Hamm on screen.

Richa Moorjani as Deputy Indira Olmstead

Every season of Fargo has the intrepid cop ignored by their superiors who is also the one who’s on the quest for the truth. Here, that’s Indira Olmstead, a Minnesota deputy who stumbles onto the case and tries to solve it. She should bring a clash against the hard-nosed Tillman, but Indira might be the cop who can save the day.

Where have you seen Richa Moorjani before?: A longtime fan of Mindy Kaling, Richa Moorjani stood out in the Netflix series Never Have I Ever. That showed a nice mix of comedy and drama, which should lend itself well to the role of Indira. It’s a huge break for Moorjani and should make for a fun dynamic.

Lamorne Morris as Deputy Witt Farr

A deputy in North Dakota, Farr has clashed with Tillman a lot but is still an honest cop trying to do his job. The trailer shows him in a hospital bed, indicating somehow he gets injured during all this, but he and Olmstead form a fun partnership that should make for a great team to watch.

Where have you seen Lamorne Morris before?: Best known for his role as Winston in the comedy New Girl, Lamorne Morris has a good resume in movies and TV. That includes Woke, Game Night, Jumanji: The Next Level, and more. He may be toning down the comedy aspects a bit for Fargo but he’s still capable of some fun touches to make the story gel.

David Rysdahl as Wayne Lyon

Dot’s husband looks like the typical “sad sack” type for the franchise, upset over her abduction and some secrets of her past. This being Fargo, it’s possible there’s more to him than meets the eye, even as he adjusts to the bizarre antics around him.

Where have you seen David Rysdahl before?: A newcomer to film and TV, David Rysdahl’s first big project was the 2020 fantasy film Nine Days. He’s won raves for his turn as Donald Horing in Oppenheimer. Fargo is his first regular TV series role.

Sam Spruell as Ole Munch

One of Dot’s kidnappers, this mysterious drifter is notable for wearing a kilt and taking some punishment from her. Just why he kidnapped Dot and what other secrets he has will come to light across the series and make his character important in the long run.

Where have you seen Sam Spruell before?: The British actor is well known for movies and TV shows, including The Hurt Locker, Elizabeth: The Golden Age, To Kill a King and more. His biggest role was Charlize Theron’s brother in Snow White and the Huntsman and a villain in Taken 3. That makes him perfect for the role of a key baddie in this season, with a touch of humor, too.

Dave Foley as Danish Graves

Lorraine’s longtime lawyer is also a sinister fixer, with his eyepatch hinting he goes the extra mile to crush anyone in his way. The trailer has him noting, “We have our own reality here,” showing he’s a guy willing to cross a lot of lines and may foul the case up.

Where have you seen Dave Foley before?: Breaking out in the classic sketch comedy show The Kids in the Hall, Dave Foley also starred in the NBC sitcom NewsRadio to show his great comedy timing. He also voiced the lead in A Bug’s Life and had roles in The Middle and Young Sheldon. It appears Foley is following the list of comedic actors to take on a dramatic role for this series to spark the series up.

With this great cast assembled, Fargo season 5 should be another fine year for the popular anthology.
