We finally know when The Cleaning Lady and Alert: Missing Persons Unit are returning to Fox, so mark your calendars!

Fox has often waited until the mid-season to unveil most of its lineup. That’s due to how busy Fall TV is, from other networks debuting shows to sports such as NFL and MLB. That means fans of some shows have often had to wait until winter or even spring for new seasons.

Such a case was for two of Fox’s notable crime shows, The Cleaning Lady and Alert: Missing Persons Unit. Both shows wrapped in April 2024 with Fox holding back on new seasons of each.

Thankfully, both shows earned renewals, The Cleaning Lady for season 4 and Alert for season 3. Now, TVLine reports both shows will return on Tuesday, March 25. The Cleaning Lady is first at 8/7c, followed by Alert at 9/8c (Doc will wrap up its freshman season by March 11).

Even better is that both shows will run uninterrupted seasons, meaning no waiting between new episodes. This has become a trend of networks, partly to make up for the delays of the 2023 Hollywood strikes and to enhance the ratings. This is good news for both shows, which have major stuff planned for their new years.

What’s coming on The Cleaning Lady Season 4?

The Cleaning Lady season 3 ended with Thony (Elodie Yung), finally freeing herself from the criminal cartels. Season 4 will have Thony trying to move back into her old medical career (so the title doesn’t really fit anymore), only to become a new “mob doctor” for an even deadlier criminal.

“After three seasons of being a pawn caught between the FBI and the world of organized crime, Thony makes the bold decision to take charge of her own destiny — by exchanging her cleaning lady uniform for the scrubs of a surgical intern at a small community hospital,” according to the official logline. “Thony’s return to the medical career she sacrificed for her son, Luca (now played by newcomer Khalen Roman Sanchez), opens a new path to citizenship for them both. But in order to make this happen, she must continue her service to the Sin Cara cartel — not as a cleaning lady, but as the new mob doctor — bringing her ever closer to Jorge, the cartel’s brooding new leader.”

It looks like the show is doing a “soft reboot,” and it does make sense with the main cartel threat gone. Seeing Thony move into a doctor career may not fit the title anymore but we will see a fresher take on the series and promises a more dramatic ride for Season 4.

What’s coming on Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 3?

After a season 2 finale that could have worked as a series finale with Nikki and Mike getting married, the show has the team moving back into their regular cases investigating abductions. However, it looks like a new threat is coming that has them, Jason and the rest of their team facing a danger.

“MPU is tasked with cases ranging from a missing female collegiate rowing team who disappeared while on the water, to a missing street artist due to donate his rare bone marrow to save his dying brother, to Nikki’s ongoing and dangerous association with Irish mob boss Charlie McGannon. But the most harrowing case to date is when MPU must band together in a race to find one of their own.”

The show was a surprise success, and its renewal was a pleasant surprise to its fans. It’s settled into a typical procedural but with enough character elements to remain appealing to fans. It’s likely Season 3 once more mixes a “case of the week” structure with an overreaching story arc involving McGannon and Nikki and a question of their connection.

So fans of both shows can circle March 25 for the return of two of Fox’s top crime dramas for some amazing new runs.

The Cleaning Lady Season 4 premieres on Tuesday, March 25 at 8/7c, followed by Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 3 on Fox.
