Ever since hearing that Station 19 was coming to an end, there have been questions about seeing a couple of characters on Grey’s Anatomy full-time again. One of them was Ben Warren.

Jason George left Grey’s Anatomy to star in Station 19. His character, Ben, who had originally been an anesthesiologist before choosing to become a surgeon, decided on another career change. He wanted the thrill of being a firefighter, and so we saw him as one of the oldest probies in the Seattle Fire Department.

Ben Warren wanted to return to his surgical residency in Station 19

The final season of Station 19 saw Ben struggling with the demands of the job. Despite taking testosterone to help, he realized that his heart has always been with surgery. This wasn’t just a final season thing, either. We’ve seen him take control of medical situations and even perform surgery in the field.

So, it wasn’t surprising toward the end of the Station 19 series finale that we saw Ben tell Andy that he wanted to head back to his surgical residency. Andy wasn’t surprised, either, knowing exactly what Ben wanted to talk about.

It was just a matter of time before we’d get the official news that Jason George would be back on the billing list for Grey’s Anatomy.

Jason George is in Grey’s Anatomy Season 21 as a series regular

That time has come. Deadline reports that George is back on Grey’s Anatomy as a series regular. Considering how often Ben has turned up in Grey’s and Bailey has turned up in Station 19 due to their relationship, it’s not surprising to see Ben return to the hospital full-time. Could it be without Bailey, though, as she threatened to walk if Adams was forced to work his first year as an intern again?

The new season of the medical drama will see a surgical intern and a resident leave. Both Midori Francis and Jake Borelli are leaving the series at some point in Season 21. Borelli plays Levi, who is currently co-Chief Resident with Helm. It’s possible that Ben’s return will see a new shakeup with the residents, giving Levi a reason to leave the hospital.

Will Stefania Spampinato return to Grey’s Anatomy?

Ben is not the only character we want to see back in the series. Eyes are on whether Carina will return. Stefania Spampinato originally joined the medical drama but then moved over to Station 19 as a series regular. There was hope that we would see her more in the medical drama now, especially considering she works there. This would then allow us to at least hear about my favorite ship, Marina!

So far, Spampinato isn’t returning as a series regular. There is always the chance that we’ll see her in a guest starring capacity. Or maybe someone just needs to look at why it would be so great to have her around, especially as Jo focuses on her residency as an OBGYN and will need Carina as her attending.
