With Bill Spencer's new love, Poppy Nozawa, and the confirmation that they share a daughter in Luna, it's no surprise that The Bold and the Beautiful is teasing the possibility of a triangle with his ex-wife Katie Logan. Personally, I'd rather not get back on Batie's merry-go-round, but I can't deny that the chemistry between Don Diamont and Heather Tom has produced some of the most compelling scenes on the soap. And, I agree with the star, their characters are the great loves of the other's life.

In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Diamont spoke about a possible resurgence for Batie who've been on the romantic outs for years now despite Bill's efforts to win "his Katie" back.

"The Bill/Katie relationship is just so beautiful for me and I think Heather [Tom, Katie] would say the same. Yes, there has been everything with Brooke [that threw a monkey wrench into the couple’s relationship], but ultimately, he sees Katie as his, no matter what goes on. He sees it that way, and if you want to call it a possessiveness, I think that’s fair, especially given Bill’s personality. And I think that Katie feels the same, even though he hasn’t always been that great for her and he’s done some dastardly things. Ultimately, Bill is her great love."

Katie hasn't really wrestled with the loss of Bill as a romantic option for her until recently. She'd been in a relationship with Carter (which was quietly ended on the soap). There hadn't been any indication that she was holding onto the off-chance that she'd reunite with her ex until she walked into his home and found him and Poppy cozy on the couch.

The revelation that the two shared a connection 20 years ago that was impactful enough to leave an impression all these years later shook her. Since then, we've been treated to scenes where she's struggled to sort out her feelings in conversations with her sisters and with her now ex, Carter. Diamont shed some light on this as well.

"But once someone comes into Bill’s life who he has a daughter with, that’s definitely going to threaten Katie and I think also awaken some things in her that she has been able to sort of literally keep at bay — compartmentalize, lock those feelings away. But they’re there. They can’t not be there. She’s his great love, he’s her great love. And so I look forward to seeing how that unfolds in the coming weeks and years."

We've certainly been seeing Katie wake up to the idea that Bill wasn't always going to be waiting in the wings to reconcile with her. Choosing not to be in a relationship with him again did stem from all the hurt that's transpired between the two over the course of their romance. Their bond hasn't been an easy one to navigate and Bill isn't an easy man to love. Still, he is someone who wants to love and be loved in return so it was only a matter of time before he did wind up with someone else. That time has come and Poppy isn't a shrinking violet.

For as much as Poppy told Bill that she finds Katie a bit intimidating because of her accomplishments and how she carries herself in the world, Poppy hasn't shirked from being direct with Katie. She basically dismissed her from the Spencer Estate after telling her that Bill wasn't home, but she could pass on that Katie had stopped by.

Poppy is the woman in Bill's life now, and she's acting accordingly. If a love triangle does crop up, it's not going to be as simple as Katie snapping her fingers to get Bill back. She'll be in for a battle of wills and the heart which could be interesting if the writers play their cards right. Already, the dynamic between the two women is refreshing as it keeps Katie on the back foot and establishes Poppy's bite even in her politeness.
