Finn and Hope are getting too close for comfort on Bold and the Beautiful

I don't know about you, Bold fans, but Thursday, June 6's episode of The Bold and the Beautiful had me heated. In the midst of the celebration around Luna learning Bill is her father, Li opening up to Katie about the night Bill saved her, and Ridge trying to convince Brooke to help him and Steffy run the company, Steffy was fielding a surprising interrogation from her husband, Finn, about her attempt to cancel Hope's line.

It was wild! He came in questioning her about the decision having heard from the doorway what the two women were arguing about. Finn didn't just cross the line, he hopped, skipped, and jumped over it seemingly unaware of how inappropriate it is to weigh in on his wife's business decisions in front of her subordinate. What makes the scene so audacious is that Finn has no stake in the day-to-day operations of Forrester Creations on top of no business acumen and no knowledge of what's happening at the company.

Steffy told him to stay in his lane but he didn't do that and his championing of Hope made the Logan quite comfortable in continuing to try to convince him that Steffy is out to get her. Not once in that conversation did he defend his wife, and when she made her exit to go speak to Carter and told Finn not to question her business decisions in the office, he simply smiled at her and agreed. As soon as she left, Hope went right back to complaining about Steffy and Finn just listened.

It was alarming! Sure, this is a family company and Finn is family, but he's not employed there. His explanation that he felt a decision like canceling Hope for the Future could disrupt their blended family dynamic fell flat because that's not how business works. Nor was it relevant but it's clear that The Bold and the Beautiful writers wanted us to be uncomfortable with that whole exchange because it further highlighted how close Finn and Hope have gotten.

Without question, Finn lept to her defense. He disrespected his wife by questioning her on a decision that has nothing to do with him, completely bypassing that she's Co-CEO and that the discussion was between her and an employee of the company about a facet of said company. I cannot stress enough how bonkers that was. He simultaneously undermined her authority as the leader of Forrester Creations and dismissed his spouse's position in favor another woman's. Amazing.

Combine what happened with Hope asking Finn to help her with the migraine she developed by touching the pressure points on her wrist, and you have a closeness between these two that could prove risky. Hope's already had more than friendly thoughts about Finn touching her, if she thinks she has influence over him that Steffy can't temper, that's going to be a problem.

While Finn's feelings for Hope lie firmly in the realm of the platonic, he's willing to openly go against Steffy for her with not much thought to how that makes his wife feels. I certainly don't like that, and I don't think this will be the last we see of him being disrespectful toward Steffy in an effort to support Hope.
