Fire Country season 2 won't be on March 8, here's why!
By Sabrina Reed
Fire Country season 2 is skipping a week! We won't be able to count on a new episode to air on Friday, March 8. Why? Well, S.W.A.T. is going to be airing a two part episode. The procedural, which is in the middle of its seventh and final season, is taking over the first two hours of CBS' Friday line-up. If you're a Blue Bloods fan, do know that there won't be a new episode of this program either. A rerun of season 14's premiere, "Loyalty," will air instead.
We'll be returned to Edgewater on Friday, March 15 at 9 p.m. ET for episode 4, "Too Many Unknowns." The episode takes place at a chemical plant with all hands on deck because of a toxic spill that catches fire. Based on the promo, Bode could be in danger!
Both Eve and Cole are yelling Bode's name but the moment where he says, "I'm going to sweep the inside and see if there's any more victims," doesn't look it's a part of the same sequence so there might be another reason that he runs back into the building. I wonder if it has anything to do with the little girl he shares scenes with in the episode.
Her name is Isla (Ava Anton), and she appears to be a bit younger than Bode's potential daughter, Genevieve. A big part of Fire Country season 2 has centered on our lead's desire to know if he is a father, and if he is, that he gets to be in Gen's life as an active participant just like Cara and Jake are. He's only gotten to speak to her twice so far--both times happening in "Like Breathing Again"--and she doesn't know that he might be her biological dad.
It's totally plausible that Bode could run back into the plant or do something daring because of Isla or something connected to her since he's likely to form a connection with her in "Too Many Unknowns." Apart from what's in the promo and the limited amount of information that's been released about the episode, not much is known about it.
We can see that Gabriela will be coming to the incident as a paramedic which might mean Diego is also in this episode since Station 58 is the firehouse with an ambulance. We haven't seen him interact with her Cal Fire family that much so this would be the perfect episode for that to happen especially since Bode is going to be there as well.
In an interview with TVInsider, Diane Farr did share that the episode will be Sharon's first structure fire we've seen in the series where she's not in charge and she's in full firefighter gear. It's also set up for episode 5.
"In [Episode] 204, there’s a chemical fire, which is the first time we get to see her in a structure fire with all the gear and with the people where she is not the boss. I can tell you as an actor, it was hard. I just did the ADR for it [yesterday]. There’s some big giant epic swells coming. Then [Episode] 205 feels the most like a family story, and it’s not just the Leone family, it’s the town of how these people interact. [Episode] 205 feels like a dream. Everything they’ve been laying out for the season starts to really come to a head beginning in 204 and then sort of sprouting in 205."
This may be around the time that Vince and Sharon learn that they may be grandparents. Billy Burke teased that the two wouldn't learn early on in the season, but finding out midseason sounds about right for where the plot will need to head toward as we start reaching the conclusion of Fire Country's sophomore run. There's also the introduction of Mickey, a Sheriff's Deputy played by Morena Baccarin, coming up. She could lead her own spin-off down the line. Mickey reportedly makes her debut in episode 6.
