Found to take over a Law and Order timeslot for NBC's 2024-2025 season

Found has had an interesting history at NBC. It was originally intended to premiere in February of 2023 only for NBC to decide to hold it back. This proved to be a good move as it allowed NBC to run an entire 13-episode season in October when the rest of the network slate was held back by the Hollywood strikes. 

For newcomers, Found tells the story of Gabi Mosley (Shanola Hampton), who had been abducted by the sinister teacher known only as “Sir” (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) as a young teen. She escaped and now leads a team of other abduction victims who search for people the police and media have ignored.

The first episode ended with a wild twist: Gabi had not only tracked down Sir but was keeping him prisoner in her home and using him for insight on tracking other predators. It brought up a strange dynamic of Sir offering his aid to Gabi, who clearly had never gotten over her ordeal.

Season 1 ended with Gabi finally revealing the truth about Sir to her team, which decidedly did not take it well. Sir himself had escaped, and the hint was that he might be back hunting Gabi. 

The show was a good success that earned a second season. We now know when it premieres and in a prime new slot!

What is Found’s new night and time on NBC? 

NBC just unveiled its 2024-25 schedule and a huge move is Found will now be airing at 10/9c on Thursdays, following Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU. 

This slides into the spot formerly held by Law & Order: Organized Crime, which will be moving to Peacock for Season 5. It’s a big move for Found with NBC deciding to give them a prime slot like this following two well-established hits. 

It’s expected Season 2 will have a full 22 episodes and likely mix up more one-episode storylines with the arc of Gabi hunting Sir and trying to win back the trust of her team. There is the question if Found can find the same success in a busy network year rather than being one of the few original network dramas on the air in the strike-affected 2023 season.

At least fans can be assured Found is going to get more spotlight and promotion from NBC for its new night and help more viewers find the excitement that’s made it a hit.
