OA Zidan and Tiffany Wallace work well together on FBI but a romance may not be in the cards
Could we see romantic sparks flying on FBI? Some fans may be hopeful that OA and Tiffany Wallace might hook up, but could it happen?
FBI hasn’t often played too much with romance. There are exceptions like Jubal’s relationship with Rina which sadly ended with her being killed by a drug lord. There’s also been Scola’s relationship with Nina, which has them now raising a child together even as she works with the FBI: Most Wanted team.
One agent having romantic issues has been OA (Zeeko Zaki). He had a relationship for a time with federal prosecutor Mona but they split up when she wanted to go further in her career.
Season 6 has had OA in a relationship with Gemma (Comfort Clinton), but it hit the skids as one of Gemma’s friends was involved in a drug case the team was investigating. OA tried to keep Gemma out of it even when she showed up at a club, only for her friend to be killed.
Gemma wasn’t happy to learn OA had known about this and their relationship has been strained since. Yet fans have been speculating on OA and Tiffany Wallace (Katherine Renee Kane) sparking a bit when they partner up. It’s true it doesn’t happen often as OA is usually with Maggie and Wallace with Scola yet somehow OA and Wallace get along well when they do partner up.
Tiffany has had her own issues in season 6 as she felt guilty over the death of analyst Hobbs at the hands of the terrorist Hakim. The season 6 finale had Wallace killing Hakim, claiming it was self-defense but the team wasn't sure about her statement until they found a gun on his body.
OA and Wallace have bonded more on both being minorities in the FBI and seeing suspects mistreated. Is it possible that it could blossom into something more?
Katherine Renee Kane on the potential for a romance between OA and Tiffany Wallace on FBI
TVLine reached out to Kane on the fan buzz about a possible Tiffany/OA romance and she gave her opinion on it.
"[Tiffany and OA] are the closest in age, so maybe that’s what [fans] are reading…?”They also both understand toeing the line of having minority status and how to connect on that, but as far as a love interest…? I am totally not presuming to know what the future holds, and that is not anything that I’m aware of. I just think they work really great together."
It does seem fans are reading a bit too much into this, as OA and Wallace are friends and respect each other deeply, but that seems to be it. The romantic connections are tough as they know relationships between agents are usually frowned upon and their line of work is dangerous.
As Kane says, the bond is more how they feel about representing their races in the FBI and handling the cultural pressure. Also, given OA's romantic struggles and Tiffany's lack of a significant on-screen romance, joining together like this could cause problems both would want to avoid.
It seems better that the pair can have each other’s backs without mixing in romance on top of things. So while some fans may dream of OA and Wallace somehow bonding outside the office, it looks like an actual romance between them isn’t in the cards.
FBI seasons 1-6 are streaming on Paramount+.
