The pieces of the puzzle begin to come together in “We Find Out the Truth, Sort Of."

Not everything has been as it seems on Percy Jackson and the Olympians, at least that's what I'm getting after episode 6, "We Take a Zebra to Vegas."

It seemed rather convenient that the lightning thief turned out to be Clarisse who is about as subtle as a sledgehammer to the face, so something tells me that either that situation is far more complicated than we're being led to believe or we've yet to learn who the real lightning thief is. Either way we should be getting some answers in episode 7, "We Find Out the Truth, Sort Of," which premieres Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.

The synopsis for the episode, via Disney+, is as followers: Our heroes journey across the Underworld, and bargain for their safety with the god of the dead.

Last episode, due to time moving differently at the Lotus Casino, Percy, Annabeth, and Grover spent days at the location. As such, time ran out on the quest and the summer solstice passed. However, Percy told his father's emissary that he's not giving up. He was given four magical orbs that would be his ticket out of the Underworld along with his friends and his mother. I'm wary of it, to be honest, because I feel in my spirit something is going to go wrong.

It's clear from the preview that the penultimate episode of season 1 is going to be a heart pounding one as the fearsome guard dog Cerberus makes an appearance, there are plenty of shots of the trio running away, Annabeth is clinging to a rock face, and Ares makes his return which looks like it's going to prompt a fight between him and Percy.

And, as always, our young hero has a plan that his friends aren't going to agree with. He tells them that after they find the Master Bolt, he wants them to leave the Underworld with his mom. Grover asks him, "What about you?" but we don't get an answer in the preview. Instead, Percy's voice over seems to jump to another part in the episode because he says, "Hold fast, Mom."

The call back to the first episode where Sally tells her son the story about Perseus and his mother has my heart all warm. Our journey with Percy Jackson and the Olympians is almost over, at least for season 1. Let's see where the show takes us as it closes out the first leg of Percy's story!
