We have officially reached the halfway point of The Celebrity Traitors series 2, and that can only mean one thing: The banishments and murders will only intensify going forward. We saw that in full view in the previous episode when Hannah Fry was banished, revealing herself to be a Traitor - resulting in celebration from the Faithful. But it would only get more shocking in the episode's closing moments.
The Traitors have now recruited Kenny, offering to seduce him instead of killing. And that's perhaps the biggest twist the show could have hoped for, because The Traitors are replenished again - and this time they have another person on their side that nobody has suspected as of yet. And with Maya Jama, James Acaster, and now Kenny on the team, the Traitors just might go under the radar for the rest of the series.
But where does that leave things in the next episode? Here's everything that went down on The Celebrity Traitors season 2 episode 6!
Look who's coming to breakfast
The Faithful show up to breakfast, expecting to discover that another murder has taken place. Naturally, there is shock when everyone turns up to breakfast, meaning that doubt starts to be sewn among the Faithful. Joe immediately begins to pick up heat because of how hard he was pushing the idea of wanting recruited by the Traitors. We know he's innocent, but the Faithful don't.
Naturally, there is a lot of quiet finger pointing right out of the gate. James Blunt's name comes up multiple times while Ross Kemp's does too. Ross knows that he will be questioned at the Roundtable but he's determined to convince everyone that he isn't. Speaking with Miranda, he made it clear that he wasn't like his legendary EastEnders character Grant Mitchell.
Losing their heads
The mission: The players must find statues' heads, then their bodies and assemble them. There are two teams - Red Team and Blue Team - and the one that assembles most statues earns a shield to give one of the members. The two teams then reconvene to start building the statues - which they successfully do, earning £7,500 for the Prize Fund.
The big twist is that the Red Team assembled more statues, earning a Shield. However, they all agree that it should be Maya who gets it - the very same Maya who also happens to be a Traitor. That's an interesting twist which does ultimately make Maya look more Faithful.
Ahead of the Roundtable, the players all gather together to discuss potential choices for Traitors. Ross, Leigh-Anne, Joanne, James Blunt, and Joe Lycett's names all come up. And, with that, Claudia sets the stage for the discussion.
Which celebrity is banished?
The Roundtable begins and nobody is really sure where to point fingers tonight. Claudia tells them that the Prize Fund is currently £46,000 as she asks them: How well do you know the person sitting next to you? And, immediately, Joe is questioned about potential recruitment due to his previous vocal requests to be recruited.
Joe laughs about the fact that he really can't defend himself because he knows that he pushed so hard for it. Leigh-Anne and Ross wonder if each other might be Traitors, before Joanne then takes the heat for her slip up the previous night. Bash specifically questions her because, while he thinks that she is a Faithful based on each separate piece of of evidence, but all together there are anomalies.
Claudia tells the players that it's time to vote and, inevitably, the votes for Joe begin rolling in. There is one vote for Ross, one for James Blunt, and one for Joanne, but Joe gets the majority, meaning that he too is now banished from the Castle. And, with that, there is such sadness at the Roundtable.
Bored to death
The Traitors are given a new task of murdering someone in plain sight: Luring a Faithful into the library after spraying a "toxic" Peacock perfume, getting them to yawn, asking them "Am I boring you?". Eventually, Jerry, Joanne and Ross enter the room. Sharon enters too, but quickly leaves as she wants to talk to Kenny about her Traitors theories.
That leaves Jerry and Ross again, so Maya and James Acaster do everything they can to try and get them to yawn. Yes, that includes yawning themselves, talking about anything and everything, and reflecting on the day's trauma of losing Joe. Just as it seems like we might get some answers, the episode cuts to credits, leaving us on yet another major cliffhanger.
It looks like one of Jerry or Ross will be the next celeb leaving The Celebrity Traitors in the way that nobody wants to go, but we'll have to wait until next week to find out who survives The Traitors.
