Misha Collins has played Castiel playing someone different multiple times and it’s time to rank them.

While you are more than used to Misha Collins playing Castiel, the actor has had a chance to show his acting talents throughout Supernatural. Whether he’s played a rabid dog, a human, or even a Cosmic Entity, Collins has proven he was the right man for the role. There are likely many more versions of Castiel (and Misha) to come, but for now we have a range of characters to rank.

Here’s a look at ranking the different Castiels in Supernatural. Technically, they’re not all Castiel but they’ve taken on the form of Castiel.

Rabid Dog Castiel

At the end of season 10 Rowena cast a spell on Cass to turn him into a rabid dog. The idea was that he would kill Crowley and slowly destroy himself in the way others had been affected. Rowena admitted that Cass would eventually foam at the mouth; he’d kill because he just wouldn’t care.

It certainly wasn’t the greatest version of Castiel and fans worried about what would happen next. There was hope, as Castiel seemed to overpower the spell but it turned out that it was just because of his angelic nature. The spell wouldn’t take full control right away like it would with humans. Eventually Castiel was saved because Rowena used the reversal spell.
