Would fans continue watching The Walking Dead if Daryl Dixon dies?

Producers know fans will riot if Daryl is killed off, so in the back of our mind, we’ve always believed he is safe. That is, until the heartbreaking mid-season 8 finale, “How It’s Gotta Be.” After that huge death, the series has once again become unpredictable. But will we really stop watching if Daryl dies?

Twitter will explode if anything happens to Daryl, it has before. Fans are not happy when their favorite is messed with. Then again, we should all know better than to become too attached to any character. This is The Walking Dead, after all, death is going to happen. That doesn’t mean we can’t be sad when one of our favorite characters dies, though. And that’s what happened in “How It’s Gotta Be.” Carl got bit.

The Walking Dead has been part of our lives since 2010. We joined the adventure knowing very well that no one is safe. Creator Robert Kirkman has said it himself several times, anyone can die. Still, we always assumed Rick and Carl were definitely safe.
