The long awaited Cloverfield sequel, The Cloverfield Paradox, revealed a first official trailer and an important connection to the first film.
After countless hours spent delving into the mysteries of the Cloververse and the revamped marketing campaign (ARG) about the third Cloverfield – Netflix has debuted the first official trailer and confirmed it will be available on Netflix immediately after the Super Bowl. We had previously mentioned rumors of the trailer and Netflix deal previously, but the news of it becoming available to night came as a major shock to fans of the expansive film universe.
In the short 30 seconds the trailer takes to introduce the film, it shows a primary focus on the events of the first film 10 years ago. In case you need a reminder, Cloverfield brought an alien-like creature to New York City that caused mass destruction, but The Cloverfield Paradox promises to showcase the events that caused the attack in the first place.

We see brief glimpses of the protagonist of the new film in the rubble as a massive Clover stomps around the city hidden in debris. While initially we were under the impression this would introduce aspects that could tie the Cloverfield films together, The Cloverfield Paradox takes a primary focus in directly addressing the first film which is something diehard Cloverfield fans have been hoping to see for the last decade.
One thing that we are certain on is that Cloverfield continues to find new ways to shock fans of the franchise with twists and turns that have made it a cult classic franchise that could go on for years to come.
