Sabrina the Teenage Witch brings in Wonder Woman’s Lucy Davis for a role
The fourth character in the Sabrina the Teenage Witch reboot has been cast, and this time it’s Aunt Hilda.
The Sabrina the Teenage Witch reboot has added another actor to its roster, according to Deadline. Wonder Woman‘s Lucy Davis is joining the cast as Aunt Hilda, played by Caroline Rhea in the 1996 version with Melissa Joan Hart in the lead role.
Davis is currently known for the role of Etta Candy in Wonder Woman, but she has also been a part of numerous popular TV shows. One of those shows was the U.K.’s version of The Office. You may also recognize her from Shaun of the Dead, starring and created by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, and the first in the Three Flavours trilogy.

The Sabrina the Teenage Witch reboot will reimagine the Archie Comics, so is likely to be slightly darker than the Nickelodeon version of the series. Aunt Hilda is the more nurturing of the two sisters, which certainly wasn’t the case with Rhea’s performance. Hilda was the fun aunt; the one that would have the quirky spells and give some of the funniest advice. Davis’ Hilda will still make love potions for the Baxter High students, but she will be the more motherly of the two aunts.
Sabrina has already been cast. Kiernan Shipka is set to take on the teenage role. Doctor Who alum Michelle Gomez has also been cast in the role of Sabrina’s favorite teacher, Mary Wardell (note: not Mr. Poole from the original series), who will be possessed by the devil’s handmaiden to lure Sabrina down the path of darkness. That certainly has a sense of Missy!
A newcomer to American TV has also been cast in the reboot. Chance Perdomo will play Sabrina’s English cousin, Ambrose Spellman. Ambrose has been put under house arrest by the Witch’s Council and will be unable to leave the home, setting up for some interesting storylines surrounding cabin fever.

With Aunt Hilda confirmed, all eyes will now be on Aunt Zelda’s casting. It’s interesting that a number of British stars have been confirmed for roles. Will Aunt Zelda be the same? And what about Salem the talking cat?
