In its triumphant return, Bob’s Burgers features a game for the kids with Gene on the outside and Linda trying something new.

After over a month hiatus, Bob’s Burgers is back and thank goodness it is! In their return, we’re headed to Wagstaff where the kids are planning a game of Ga-Ga ball and Linda tries her hand at filling in for a beloved storyteller. This week’s episode is a little bit different, but a perfect start to the spring season!

If you haven’t watched “Y Tu Ga-Ga Tambien,” there will be spoilers from this week’s episode.

More from FOX

The episode begins with the kids and Rudy at recess before Mr. Frond comes out with an announcement. Frond introduces a game called Ga-Ga ball and he describes it as dodgeball but gentler. The Belcher kids give up on his idea but find out everyone actually loves Ga-Ga ball.

Gene and Louise still won’t give in, even though Tina did. The two find out Rudy is amazing at Ga-Ga ball and he persuades Louise to play Ga-Ga ball. When they go home, all the girls do is talk about Ga-Ga ball, frustrating Gene

The next day, Mr. Frond announces all new pits, resulting in Gene losing his special project. To celebrate the success of Ga-Ga ball, Frond introduces a winner-take-all game. Gene enters the game as a chance to retaliate against the game and Mr. Frond.

The game comes down to Rudy and Gene, who are trash talking before Gene finally defeats Rudy. Gene explains how peer pressure shaped Ga-Ga ball and not everyone loves the game as Frond imagined. Everything goes back to normal at recess and everyone is able to play whatever they want, thanks to Gene.

As for Bob and Linda, a storyteller from the library comes into the restaurant, talking about going out of town on Friday. Linda persuades him to tell her to fill in, even though she has no idea what she’s going to dress as.

The next day, Linda tries to come up with a disguise and story without any luck.  She comes up with her persona: Punky Booksters. On Friday, Frank shows up and Linda decides to go up against him in a read-off. The two make amends but not before Linda gets the police called on her and she runs out.

Coming off a huge hiatus, it’s hard not to be excited about this week’s episode. Thankfully, the episode was unique as it focused on both the kids and Linda. It was a nice to see Gene be in the spotlight and stand up for himself even though Louise and Tina didn’t at first. As for Linda, she can still have fun.

Overall, “Y Tu Ga-Ga Tambien” was an extremely fun episode. I loved seeing Gene and Linda at center stage but mostly Gene being the odd one out between the kids. As per usual, this episode was funny but still had its share of sincere moments.

I give “Y Tu Ga-Ga Tambien” an A-.

Bob’s Burgers airs Sundays on Fox at 7:30/6:30c.
