John Constantine has made a few appearances on Legends of Tomorrow already, but now that we’ll see him more next season, how does he fit in with the team?

After John Constantine returned in Arrow, he went away for a while, but returned in Legends of Tomorrow this season in “Beebo the God of War.” He’s appeared in two other episodes this season and will appear one more time in the season finale. Matt Ryan was confirmed as a series regular for season four, so the finale is likely to set up him staying with the team.

In Arrow, Constantine was the one who helped the team bring Sara back to life. That’s coming back to haunt her a little now as she has some sort of connection with Mallus. With the Darhk’s around, that means there’s also plenty of magic to go around.

While it’s nice to have Wally around now, too, Constantine’s experience with magic is something the Legends desperately need right now. But the real question is, how does he fit in with the team?

Constantine is quite the character and there’s no one else like him in the entire DC Universe really. Matt Ryan plays the character with such charisma that many were sad when Constantine on NBC was canceled after just one season. In “Daddy Darhkest,” Constantine and Sara spend a lot of time together, sleep together and then joke about it later. It’s safe to say that those two get along well.

When he appears in “Necromancing the Stone,” he gets off to a rough start with Ava, but things smooth out once they get Sara back. Plus, by the end of the episode, he’s playing Dungeons and Dragons with Gary. While neither of them is directly on the team, they still pop up frequently enough to be fairly important.

Constantine didn’t interact too much with the rest of the team in his latest appearance, but he knows when to turn on the charm. Mick is tough to read, but he’s likely to warm up to Constantine more once he realizes how much they can both drink together. Knowing how well Matt Ryan plays the role, there’s no doubt in my mind that Constantine will fit right in with everyone.

I’m certainly looking forward to not only how they finish out this season, but where they take next season. Legends of Tomorrow has surprised me with how enjoyable it is and that’s simply because they just revel in the weirdness of time travel.
