Scoobynatural may be the first time the two shows have crossed over, but it’s not the first time Scooby-Doo has been mentioned in Supernatural.

When the Supernatural showrunners confirmed there would be a crossover with Scooby-Doo, it was clear that this was a long-time coming. The series has had mentions of the Scooby Gang since the very first season. One of the most prominent was in Supernatural Season 11, when Dean called Crowley “Velma” and then Crowley retorted he’s more of a Daphne.

Sure enough, Dean has always had a thing for that purple-dress wearing member of the Scooby Gang. It’s not surprising at all in the promo for “Scoobynatural” that he’s calling dibs on Daphne right away and thinks she can do better than Fred. There may even be a kiss for him by the end of the episode.
