You know the whole saying: “Another day, another reboot?” Maybe that’s not how it goes, but that’s how it seems. Earlier this week, news broke about Amazon rebooting the classic movie, A League of Their Own into its own TV series.

A fiercely feminist sports movie, A League of Their Own has been charming fans of all ages for years. Not to mention, the series is being developed by Will Graham and Abbi Jacobson. Yes, the Abbi Jacobson of Broad City fame. If you weren’t excited, then you should be now.
Unlike the original film, it won’t focus on the same team but instead be a modern retelling of the original story. With Graham and Jacobson at the helm, there’s a lot to be excited about. It also begs the question: How many other great female-led films deserve their own TV reboot?
In 2018, there are reboots aplenty and a lot of studios looking to reboot old TV shows, movies and video games among many other properties. Despite the lack of original content, there are a lot of TV shows and movies who deserve to be updated for an older and more modern audience.
This time, I’m just strictly talking about movies. Maybe I’ll focus on TV shows another day but here are 5 female-led or feminist films who deserve their own modern TV retelling!
