Sam and Dean have separated for Supernatural Season 13, Episode 18. Now the promo and synopsis are out, it’s time to look at the top takeaways for the episode.

Dean leaving Sam behind to go into the Apocalypse World was bad enough, but his companion is Ketch. These are two extremely sarcastic individuals, but both with the skills necessary to get in and out of the angel-run world. However, Supernatural Season 13, Episode 18 isn’t going to be easy.

The promo and synopsis give us an idea of things to expect throughout “Bring ’em Back Alive.” Here are the top five takeaways from both.

#1. Plenty of banter

More from Supernatural

One thing is for certain: there will be plenty of banter between Dean and Ketch. Some of the promo is spent focusing on the two, with Ketch complaining about the vacation spot. The two are extremely sarcastic, pretty much the same personality when it comes to defensive walls inside. These two pairing up was fun for the single episode in Season 12, so it’s going to be even better this time now they’re (hopefully) definitely on the same side.

#2. Castiel isn’t impressed

When Sam explains where Dean is (and who he is with), Castiel has one of the best lines. “Because that makes it so much better.” Honestly, Castiel is getting the sarcasm perfect recently and this episode will hopefully include many more of these moments. He’s not impressed with Dean’s decision to go into the Apocalypse World (although probably understands why he did it) and definitely not impressed Sam let Dean go with just Ketch.

#3. Gabriel’s story should be told

It’s about time we learn more about Gabriel. How is he still alive? That’s the burning question we all have and he’s still to tell us. Well, the synopsis for Supernatural Season 13, Episode 18 tells us that Sam and Castiel will be left learning more about Gabriel. This is the chance for Gabriel to share all–and it looks like it’s linked to demigods.

#4. There’s an angel base

While Mary and Jack have found Bobby’s resistance base, it’s time for Dean and Ketch to find the angel’s HQ. Remember when angels were soldiers? Well, it looks like the Apocalypse World is bringing that whole idea back. We saw Zachariah in military fatigues, but that wasn’t just because of his vessel. Other angels are wearing fatigues and body plates. They’re a real force to be reckoned with.

#5. No sign of Mary and Jack

While all this happens, there isn’t any sign of Mary, Jack or Apocalypse Bobby. That doesn’t mean they won’t be in the episode, but there’s no focus on any of them just yet. The synopsis tells us that Dean will get one step closer to finding Mary and Jack, so they may not show up until next week. However, the synopsis and promo don’t mention or show Lucifer and Anael, but they’re in promo photos for the week!

Here are the synopsis and promo for the episode to get an idea for yourself.

"Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) rules over heaven but things aren’t going exactly as planned, exasperating his first lady, Jo (guest star Danneel Ackles). Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Castiel (Misha Collins) are perplexed by the return of Gabriel (guest star Richard Speight Jr.). Meanwhile, Dean (Jensen Ackles) gets one step closer to finding Mary and Jack."
