Would Supernatural dare to kill [Spoiler] off again?

Supernatural brought back a very special member of the series back again, but fans worry if it’s just to kill them off again.

The SPN Family was alight during Supernatural Season 13, Episode 18. A very special character returned. While it may have just been because fans were begging for it to happen, it made many in the fandom happy.

This return was done in the best way possible. While we knew it was a possibility, we didn’t know the series was actually going to do it. There were hints from the summer, with the showrunners confirming that previously dead characters would return. But quite honestly, we thought we’d seen the main ones.

Supernatural Season 13, Episode 7 brought back two from the dead–and one of those was in the Winchester’s world. Kevin and Ketch made their returns (with one not seen since). And we can’t forget that Michael and Zachariah have made their returns, although in different vessels. Nor can we forget that Apocalypse Bobby returned, after initially being seen in the Season 12 finale.

Then in Supernatural Season 13, Episode 12, another dead character returned. Rowena was brought back with a full explanation of how it happened and delved into her fears after seeing Lucifer’s true face.

We didn’t quite think Supernatural Season 13 could surprise us anymore, until Robert Singer confirmed that two more familiar faces would return and one of them was in the Apocalypse World. That familiar face turned up this week, but it’s brought up a scary thought. Has that character returned just to be killed off again?

Charlie has returned from the dead

Supernatural Season 13, Episode 18 saw the return of Charlie Bradbury. It’s Apocalypse Charlie, but it’s still the same Charlie.

She’s a badass; a strong resistance leader and ready to sacrifice herself for the cause. Throughout the episode, I watched her scenes with nerves. Would Supernatural bring her back just to kill her off again? It certainly looked possible, as Dean raced to the prisoner of war camp in hopes of saving her this time. He still blames himself for her death way back in Season 10.

Why fear such a thing about Supernatural?

There are a few reasons for my fears, but the main one is what Supernatural did with Missouri. The showrunner made a huge thing about bringing her back after more than a decade of not even mentioning her. As soon as they brought her back, they killed her off.

We didn’t even get a full episode with her! She was dead by the end of the first act.

I mean, seriously!

Supernatural has a bad track record for the way it deals with its female characters. Multiple females have been brought back after not being seen for a while, just to be killed off. Meg I can totally understand (Rachel Miner requested it after needing to stop acting), but the others were done as plot devices. Ellen and Jo; Charlie; Sarah…so many have come back just to be killed off.

So forgive me when I say part of me didn’t want the series to bring Charlie back in the Apocalypse World. I’m terrified that the series has brought her back just to kill her off again. And I worry even more now that she’s back.

This Apocalypse Charlie has already shown her willingness to die for a cause she believes in. She refused to tell the angels where the resistance camps were. While she was scared of the executioner, she faced death in the way she did in Season 10. Then when she had the chance to go to a slightly safer world, she opted to remain behind with Ketch (a character that has a track record of people around him dying). There are ample opportunities to kill her off again.

Please don’t say it’s so! Please keep Charlie alive this time. I don’t mind if it’s going to be in the Apocalypse World after taking down Michael and the angels. If she gets to live a happy life after the angels have been taken down, that’s fine by me! Just please don’t bring her back just to kill her off again. That will possibly make me hate the show even more than I did for Charlie’s treatment in the first place.
