Supernatural Season 2 guest star lands role on The Originals
The Originals returned for its fifth and final season last night. One thing you may have missed is that a Supernatural guest star appeared.
The Originals Season 5 premiered on The CW on April 18, starting the end of the series. While most of the story was focused on the Mikaelsons, including young Hope, there was also the focus on Hayley’s latest flirtation. Torrance Coombs guest starred as Irish chef, Declan. Most fans will recognize him as Bash from Reign or Culpepper from The Tudors, but he also guest starred in an episode of Supernatural Season 2.
Coincidently (and this really was just a coincidence) it was the episode I recently recapped. Coombs was in Episode 18, “Hollywood Babylon.” It was actually his second role as he broke into acting, although he has since gone on to land a number of lead roles in both Canadian and American TV. In fact, it was after the CW show that he landed his first main role of TV, in jPod in 2008.

Usually, he plays characters with his own or a British accent. In The Originals he’s put on an Irish accent for his character. Considering he’s only been in a few minutes of the series so far and he’s extremely good at playing both good and evil characters, it’s hard to tell which side he’ll be on. However, if you want to see a once-Supernatural guest star in a more major role, now is your time to do it all live.
Coombs is credited for seven episodes in The Originals Season 5. It airs on Wednesday nights at 9/8c on The CW.

In Supernatural, he was one of the actors in “Hell Hazors II: The Reckoning.” He would hold the shotgun at the end, shooting at the ghosts after the real way to repel spirits was written into the script for the show’s movie.
