Kevin comes back for another Supernatural Season 13 episode. This time it looks like he’s about to side with the resistance, but is that definitely the case?

The last time we saw Apocalypse Kevin in Supernatural Season 13, he was with Michael. Well, he was being forced by Michael to read the angel tablet and open the rift to the “Paradise World.” He didn’t seem too broken up about working with the angels, but we never really learned about everything going on inside his head.

Supernatural Season 13, Episode 20 looks set to change that. He’s in the promo photos for “Unfinished Business,” and looks a little worse for wear. By the looks of things, Jack and the resistance will storm Michael’s church and they’ll only find Kevin left behind. Kevin looks like he’s searching for help, but is that really the case?

Has Kevin turned against Michael?

Michael is likely tricking Jack and his followers

Quite honestly, my money is on Michael playing a few games. If Kevin had actually turned his back against the angels, there is no way Michael would keep him alive. As an archangel, Michael would know that killing Kevin would awaken another prophet. Why would Michael keep Kevin around if he didn’t need to?

Michael is also not stupid. He wants to get through the rift and possibly thinks he needs Jack to do that. What better way than to lead Jack and Mary into a false sense of security? Why not make it look like Kevin has been left behind?

Angels have been able to track people before, and the angels in the Apocalypse World haven’t lost their wings. Michael is likely planning on tracking Kevin’s movements.

Kevin wants to get to the Paradise World

The last we saw of Kevin, he wanted to get through the rift. He told Lucifer that Michael promises him the chance to meet girls. This is a young boy who hasn’t met the Winchesters and is really just fighting for his own survival. He’s not the Kevin we came to know and love throughout his run on Supernatural, so we can’t expect him to follow our Kevin’s thought process.

Kevin hasn’t turned his back on Michael yet, and Michael has clearly done some evil things. Sure, he’s scared, but this is also a dog-eat-dog world. He’s going to do what he can to survive and that means working with Michael to take down Jack and the resistance.

I don’t think Kevin is someone we can trust this week, but I’m happy to be proved wrong.
