BritBox wants you to have a Marvel-ous weekend, watching the actors before they took on their Marvel roles. Watch the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch, Hayley Atwell, and Tom Hiddleston in roles you’ve forgotten.
Before battling over Wakanda or becoming the “God of Mischief,” the Marvel actors had parts in smaller British films and TV shows. It’s easy to forget about some of them, but BritBox doesn’t want you to. The streaming service of all the best British dramas, comedies, and more encourages you to have a Marvel-ous weekend without an actual superhero in sight!

This is the perfect way to use up your weekend, while you wait to see Avengers: Infinity War or to still see the actors without sitting through another superhero movie. The titles are already available for streaming and it’s up to you which order you watch them in.
If you want to do it based on superhero/movie, then this is the perfect order.
Captain America:
- Hayley Atwell – Life of Crime
- Toby Jones – Aristocrats & Midsomer Murders
- Martin Freeman – The Office (or in your Black Panther viewing if you wish)
Thor:
- Tom Hiddleston – Return to Cranford & Miss Austen Regrets
- Idris Elba – five by five
Doctor Strange:
- Benedict Cumberbatch – Dunkirk & Small Island

The movies above have been the breakout movies for a number of the actors. They’re also some of the firm favorites for those who remember the actors back in the day.
My favorite is definitely Return to Cranford, so that will be my first to watch!
