Castle Rock sets premiere date and releases new trailer
Castle Rock released a new trailer and announced a premiere date for this summer. Check it out!
Castle Rock is just one of many Stephen King adaptations, but this one has a unique spin since it is more of an adaptation of his universe rather than one piece of it. Sissy Spacek, who played Carrie, is returning to the universe as Ruth Deaver. Bill Skarsgård, who was recently in IT, is in the show as a prisoner at Shawshank.

The new trailer is narrated by Terry O’Quinn’s Dale Lacy as we see various scenes from the show. It looks as creepy as you’d expecting something coming from the Stephen King universe to be. Expect to see plenty of bizarre things when the show premieres.

We also get a premiere date with the trailer, which is July 25. Thankfully, that isn’t too terribly far away. I’ve been anticipating this show since I knew it was in production. While there may be several Stephen King adaptations in the works right now, this is the one I’m looking forward to the most.
Castle Rock has the chance to tie various movies and shows together that we’ve watched over the years. You’ll see characters interacting that maybe wouldn’t have otherwise. That alone is worth being excited for.

Henry Deaver (played by Andre Holland), appears to have a central role in the story. He’s a lawyer who finds himself visiting Shawshank and Ruth is his adoptive mother. While we see familiar faces, there’s no indication yet if Ruth is Carrie under an assumed name or if the Shawshank prisoner turns out to be Pennywise. I can’t wait to find out.
Castle Rock premieres on Hulu on July 25.
