We know Jensen Ackles is going to play someone new. Is it possible he’ll finally play Michael in the Supernatural Season 13 finale after all these years of avoiding it?

Ever since Jensen Ackles confirmed that he is playing someone different on Supernatural, we’ve been searching for clues as to who it would be. Billie keeps saying she will see Dean soon, suggesting that he’s going to die. This could certainly leave Dean’s body empty. Could it make it possible for Michael to jump into the vessel?

The only reason I jump at Michael is that showrunner Andrew Dabb says that the character is “both unexpected and kind of a long time coming.” Michael would certainly be unexpected considering this is Dean we’re talking about. He’s been avoiding becoming Michael’s vessel since Supernatural Season 5, making it also a long time coming.

Has Dean set off an imbalance for Michael?

More from Supernatural

During Supernatural Season 5, we learned that Sam and Dean were Lucifer and Michael’s true vessels. Nobody else could withstand them, although Adam was able to due to the Winchester bloodline.

Lucifer is now in Nick’s vessel because of some spell work thanks to the late Crowley. As for Apocalypse Michael, well, there are no Winchesters in the Apocalypse World. Is it possible that without the true vessels being available in the world, the archangels were able to jump into anyone’s vessels?

Now that the true vessels are around, Michael’s current form could be deteriorating. There’s a chance that the true vessels coming into the world has upset the balance and that’s why we haven’t seen Michael in a while. Michael now needs Dean’s vessel to continue his reign.

Can an angel take over a dead body?

I’m not sure on this part of the angel lore. I actually don’t think it’s been covered. All I know is Castiel is able to inhabit Jimmy Novak’s vessel despite Jimmy being dead. That may be because Jimmy had already given Castiel permission, but it’s a grey area.

Is it possible that Michael could jump into Dean’s body if Dean dies? That would explain why Billie constantly tells Dean that she’ll see him soon, but also how Ackles will play someone else, who is unexpected and a long time coming.

If Dean doesn’t die, he could choose to make a major sacrifice: say yes to Michael to take out his version of Lucifer. After all, Michael has already done it once.

Could it become the Season 13 finale cliffhanger?

Something big is going to happen to end the season. It always does. Look at every other season finale, even the first one! Well, Supernatural Season 13 could end with Dean being taken over by Michael. It would be the shocking moment that has us all worried about the Winchesters, Jack, Castiel, Gabriel, and the entire two worlds for the whole summer.
