With season two of Nobodies about to wrap up, we catch up with the cast — Rachel Ramras, Larry Dorf, and Hugh Davidson — to chat about bloopers, Larry’s misfortunes, and more!

After spending some time over at the Paramount Network, the comedy returned to its original home on TV Land recently. It’s severely underrated and if you’re not watching Nobodies, you’re missing out! We’re here to spread the good word about the greatness of Nobodies. And if you are already up to speed on the show, the interview below will be even easier to follow!

The series is produced by Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone, both who also guest star in the comedy which follows three friends (Ramras, Dorf, and Davidson) struggling to make it in Hollywood.

Check out the Season 2 trailer below:

Hugh, Larry, and Rachel’s misfortune is our amusement, but you’ll also find yourself quickly falling for the characters and caring about them. We want them to succeed! Hilarity ensues when the trio fails, but the show is fun even when life cuts them a break.

The first season includes celebrity guest stars Jason Bateman, Kristen Bell, Allison Janney, Bob Odenkirk, Maya Rudolph, and more. Its second season closes in just a few weeks, and it has been amazing! Mark-Paul Gosselaar stars in a recurring role. This season has also seen Kristin Wiig, Sia, and Rachel Harris in guest star roles.

More from Comedy

Hidden Remote: Melissa McCarthy is hilarious, as always! One of my favorite things to watch are her freak outs. How much of that is improvised?

Rachel Ramras: When Melissa comes, we never know what we’re going to get which is very fun to genuinely react to.

Hidden Remote: And the reactions look so real! Will there be bloopers? I’m sure everyone would love to see them!

Ramras: Oh, we could probably fill an entire episode with Melissa, bloopers, and outtakes.

Hugh Davidson: Maybe they’ll [TV Land] put them online. They’re very funny.

Hidden Remote: Larry, I hate the sound of this but — I love watching your life fall apart on the show. It’s hilarious!

Larry Dorf: Oh! Haha, you’re not the only one.

Hidden Remote: Your marriage, the script for Open Dorf Policy, you not starring on the show — Rachel Harris! How was it like having her on?

Dorf: She [Harris] is one of our good friends. We both really were on Evan Almighty as I mention on the episode. I mean, I made up the sex scene part, we didn’t do that, but the rest is true.

Hidden Remote: Yes, I did look that up! I love the facts and references you all drop on the show and —

Davidson: He always brags about it [Evan Almighty]

Ramras: He brags about a lot of things! He’s a bragger. [laughs]

Hidden Remote: Rachel can you tease what we’ll see between you and Hugh?

Ramras: I think we’ve already sorta shown that they have a real chemistry and connection, but there’s this new romance with Mark-Paul Gosselaar, which is tempting for Rachel. But you can see cracks in Hugh and Sam’s relationship, so — we’ll see!

Hidden Remote: Can you talk a bit about the scene where Rachel finds the doll in the trash? The one Mark-Paul gifted Rachel’s daughter.

Ramras: Yeah! When you’re a single parent dating, you’re not just trying to find someone for yourself. You need someone who could potentially be, you know, someone you could bring your family in with. From Lois perspective, there’s a realness and innocence with children, they sorta cut through the bullshit — and not that there’s anything bad with Mark-Paul, there’s just something about Hugh that she likes better for me. So it was interesting for Lois (Stella Edwards) to tell that story through.

Hidden Remote: Finally, I wanted to comment how I love that sex isn’t a focus in this show. Nowadays, it’s all about raunchy comedies. Nobodies is just plain funny. Did that come up? Was avoiding this a focus?

Davidson: It’s funny because we write another show that’s very vulgar, Mike Tyson Mysteries! No, our humor isn’t really generally speaking juvenile. None of us, the three of us, like that stuff really. So, in a way, this [Nobodies] is honestly what we are interested in, relationship and real people. I think we find this more interesting and funny, in a painful way, than anything else.

Hidden Remote: It’s very refreshing to see and we want more! Is Season 3 in the works?

Davidson: We have a very exciting play, I think! We’ve definitely set it up to where we could do something if Season 3 happens.
