Emma Kenney is now a household name for both Shameless and Roseanne fans. In this interview with Young Hollywood (and exclusive for Hidden Remote) she shares all about her pets, her excitement about playing Harris Conner-Healy, and that awkward moment she met John Goodman for the first time.

Shameless star Emma Kenney is taking ABC by storm as the smart and sassy daughter of Darlene, Harris Conner-Healy in Roseanne. During an interview with Young Hollywood, she got the chance to share all about an awkward and embarrassing moment with the show’s co-star, John Goodman, who plays her onscreen grandfather, Dan Conner. Hidden Remote has the chance to debut the interview exclusively.

Before getting into the embarrassing moment, Kenney shares what was happening when she got the job on Roseanne and how she prepared for the role. It was the best 18th birthday present an actress could ask for, but it did mean binge-watching all nine seasons of the series to get ready for her role in the revival.

More from ABC

Of course, binge-watching was all about research–and she’s not quite finished with the original episodes yet. She took the chance to understand the Conner family vibe to make sure she could fit in as the sassy and sarcastic Harris.

It doesn’t take long to get into the embarrassing moment, but it seems that all the actors are as quirky and fun as each other. Goodman was the last member of the cast Kenney got to meet and it was at the table read. Check out the video at around 2-minutes, 45-seconds for the details of this funny but awkward moment.

Kenney has nothing but good things to say about the set of Roseanne. It certainly seems like a family on and off screen.

Check out the fun five-minute interview with Young Hollywood below and don’t forget to check out Roseanne to see Kenney in action.
