Big Brother host Julie Chen is back for another fun-filled summer. Chen has high hopes for the BB20 cast and said as such in a new interview about the reality competition show.

Julie Chen has been the Big Brother host since summer 2000. In that time, there have been 19 regular seasons, one online season, and even an all-celebrity edition. Now, Chen is working with the BB20 cast. The presentation of Big Brother 20 begins with the season premiere on June 27.

Typically, Chen takes full advantage of her Twitter account to help create buzz for the show. A recent interview she did with Gold Derby should help with that.

The Big Brother host holds nothing back

In the interview, Chen explained how excited she was that the show made it all the way to Season 20. As previously reported by Inside the BB House, CBS has already started showing Big Brother 20 previews. Included are hints that this is a big birthday celebration for the reality competition show.

During the interview with Gold Derby, Chen stated that “I never thought ‘Big Brother’ would even complete Season 1. I remember them telling me, ‘If your numbers don’t stay, they could cancel your show.’ How do you cancel a [live reality show] with peoples’ lives existing inside the ‘Big Brother’ house? Do you just set them all free?”

Julie Chen’s thoughts on Celebrity Big Brother

The Big Brother host also spoke about the recently completed season of Celebrity Big Brother USA. She shared the thought of many viewers, as it appeared Marissa Jaret Winokur made a mistake taking Ross Mathews to the end. Instead, the CBB jury sided with her, sending Marissa home with the $250,000 prize.

 The Big Brother 20 premiere

June 27 marks the first time the BB20 cast will appear on CBS. It’s a two-hour event on that Wednesday evening. As the schedule reveals, Episode 2 is on June 28 and Episode 3 is on July 1. That will serve as a busy first week, allowing for a lot to take place on the CBS live feeds as well.

There is a high likelihood, that in the next few weeks, BB20 cast lists will start popping up social media. Take them all with several grains of salt. Last week, Inside the BB House relayed the information that the final cast has not yet been selected. This means there isn’t anything to leak yet. Stay tuned, though, because it’s only a matter of time until CBS announces the names.
