Osric Chau making his film debut later this year
Supernatural actor Osric Chau is heading to the big screen. He’ll star in his very first movie later this year.
Supernatural fans have a special place in their hearts for Osric Chau. Best known for Kevin, he returned for Season 13 to take on an Apocalypse World persona. Unfortunately, we only got two episodes of him, but that’s not all we’ll see of him this year. Our Kevin is growing up and Chau has landed his first film, Empty by Design.
If that wasn’t enough, he’s doing something many other Superantural actors have succeeded at doing: he’s taking a step behind the camera, too. Chau is one of the producers for the movie.

Empty by Design has a diverse cast and crew, and not just in terms of ethnicity. Everyone is currently scattered around the globe, which has made the production for the movie challenge, based on a Facebook post from the movie’s PR team. Also starring and producing the movie is Chris Pang, who will be in the upcoming Crazy Rich Asians.
Hook‘s Dante Basco will also star in the movie and is another of the producers. This is clearly a passion project for everyone involved, which will mean heart, soul, blood (maybe not literally), sweat, and tears.

The Philippine-set movie is described as “a story of two souls leaving their home” and returning back. It’s all about the adjustment to returning home, including some of the disconnection and loneliness that can come with that. There’s the want and need to be part of “home” once more. Character descriptions haven’t been shared yet and there isn’t a release date.
