Supernatural Season 14 production prep officially begins
After a six-week break, the Supernatural crew is back together. Supernatural Season 14 production prep begins, ready for filming to start very soon.
It may have only been a month since the Season 13 finale, but most of the cast and crew have had six weeks off. Now the break is over and the crew is back together to start the Supernatural Season 14 production prep. Jason Fischer, who spends a lot of time posting the update/quote board throughout the filming process, shared that it was back to work for almost everyone.
The cast will have a little more time off with their families and for conventions. Filming is set to begin on July 16, although some may be done earlier to create a teaser for San Diego Comic Con 2018. Of course, the gag reel may be used instead for a treat for the fans attending the Supernatural panel.

Filming takes eight days usually for each episode. This is eight working days, which runs Monday to Friday unless something happens and another day is needed. Starting work in July helps the production team get ahead for an October start and avoid as few breaks as possible throughout the season.

The production prep for Supernatural Season 14 will involve setting up everything needed for at least the first episode being filmed. This isn’t necessarily going to be the premiere. In previous years, the second or third episodes of seasons have been the first ones filmed due to actor availability and schedules. The writing of the scripts started earlier in the hiatus, making sure the crew could get straight into prepping this month.
