The hit TV segment, Carpool Karaoke, takes a turn down ‘Penny Lane.’ In this carpool karaoke, James Corden picks up The Beatles legend, Paul McCartney. The epic edition of carpool karaoke airs on the final episode of The Late Late Show’s week in London.

McCartney takes Corden around Liverpool, the birthplace of The Beatles. Along the way, they sing some of the greatest songs of The Beatles such as, “Drive My Car,” “Blackbird,” and “When I’m 64.”

McCartney leads Corden down memory lane, “Penny Lane” that is. They visit a barbershop where McCartney went when he lived in Liverpool. They drive to the home of McCartney where he spent his teenage years and where he wrote “She Loves You.”

More from CBS

McCartney tells Corden that his dad thought the chorus should sound less American. His dad suggested instead they should sing “She loves you/ Yes, yes, yes” and not “She loves you/ Yeah, yeah, yeah.” McCartney also explains how the hit “Let It Be” comes from a dream he had in the 60’s. He shares how his deceased mother, Mary, reassures him that “It’s going to be okay. Just let it be.”

The car ride finishes at the Philharmonic, a famous old pub where McCartney used to perform. The lucky customers at the pub were in for a surprise performance, one they would never forget. In the video McCartney and his band perform “Hard Day’s Night,” “Ob-La-Di-Ob-La-Da,” “Love Me Do,” and “Back in the USSR.” To finish the mini concert, Corden joins McCartney on stage to sing “Hey Jude.”

Without a doubt this is easily the most epic carpool karaoke to date. Watch it below now!
