Amazon Fire TV’s activation to feature Game of Thrones, The Good Place and Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan
Looks like Game of Thrones will be represented at #SDCC after all! The Amazon Fire TV activation will take fans into HBO’s Game of Thrones, NBC’s The Good Place, and Amazon’s Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan.
Amazon Fire TV’s activation at San Diego Comic Con wants you to “Fast Forward to the Future,” and it’s an activation that’s a must-see for attendees. This will be Fire TV’s first time attending SDCC, and it will serve as an opportunity for fans to try the all-new Fire TV Cube, “a hands-free 4K Ultra HD streaming media player with Alexa”. The device is voice-activated and lets you control your TV (including smart home apps and music streaming) from anywhere in range.
What is Amazon Fire TV’s “Fast Forward to the Future” activation?
“Fast Forward to the Future will take you on a journey through the evolution of television”, showing you how Fire TV allows you to watch TV shows and movies, control smart home devices, use Alexa skills, listen to music, and more. They’re actually bringing a giant Fire TV Cube that attendees can go inside and try out the voice-activated device for themselves.
But there’s a lot more to see here, and it’s all super-Instagramable.

Inside the activation, there will be a “Device Garden,” featuring out-dated, graveyard for television tech, a “Backyard Cinema Club,” where fans can try the Fire TV Stick in an outdoor theater that’s made out of VHS tapes, and “Fire TV Street,” a street celebrating TV favorites with photo moments and surprises.
And the finale? HBO’s Iron Throne straight from Westeros! So if you were sad that the Game of Thrones activation wasn’t happening this year, and you’re still hunting down an iconic throne photo moment, just get yourself to the Amazon Fire TV activation!

The final space is the “Stress-Free Streaming” zone (after walking through a 16-foot Fire TV home screen) where you can escape the chaos of SDCC and relax by watching your favorite shows in lounges made to look like the sets in Game of Thrones, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, and The Good Place. And you can also charge your mobile devices and sip on tv show-themed mocktails because this is a tv-lover’s paradise!
Where, when and how to get in:
You can go to “Fast Forward to the Future” and experience all of the Fire TV offerings (including the newly launched Fire TV Cube) for all four days of the convention, July 19 through July 22, from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Sunday hours end at 5:00 PM).
The activation is location at the corner of 7th Ave and Market St in San Diego, and you do NOT need a SDCC badge to participate in the experience!
