Supernatural fans used to be split mostly only between the two main characters. Are you a Sam!Girl or a Dean!Girl? Here are the signs you’re the latter.

When Supernatural first started, female fans were mostly split down the middle. Some were totally Sam!Girls, and others (like me) were Dean!Girls. Over the years, things have changed but there are still those who will favor one brother over another–and some of us have found a fondness for both characters in ways we couldn’t in the past the more we watch.

Dean!Girls are all about older brother Dean Winchester, as the name of the group would suggest. You want to see more of him on your screen and see him involved more. But it’s far more than that. Here are seven signs that you’re totally a Dean!Girl and proud.

7. You get excited when the trailers are about him

The minute you see Dean is a focal point in a trailer, you know it’s going to be a good episode. In fact, you can’t wait to watch it. It doesn’t matter who wrote the episode, who guest stars, or even what the overall episode is about. As long as your guy takes a main place in the episode, you’re happy.

Your favorite trailer in Supernatural Season 13 may have been “The Scorpion and the Frog” or even “Various and Sundry Villains,” because of the role Dean would play in both. That doesn’t mean the episodes were your favorites, but the trailers stood out.

6. You love the Dean fan videos

When you watch the videos made online, they have to include Dean in some way. In fact, you will purposely search for Dean in the videos. They can include him on his own, with another character, or even in fan-favorite crossovers. Some of the most popular include Destiel videos, Dean with a character from The Vampire Diaries, and even just Dean/Sam brother-focused videos.

You want to see Dean over and over again. It doesn’t matter about the rest. He’s the one you feel draw to; the one that you feel the most emotion from. This is the guy you want to fill up your screens and watch go through the motions of different storylines.

5. You’ll watch the heartbreaking moments over and over again

More from Supernatural

It doesn’t matter the emotion, you want to see anything that involves Dean. This means watching all those heartbreaking moments over and over again–and you feel everything that he feels. Your heart literally breaks for the character.

Some of the most standout moments include Dean smashing Baby in the second season, that moment Dean tells Sam about his time in Hell in the fourth season, and when Dean tells Cass he’s had enough in “On the Head of a Pin.” Supernatural Season 13 also gave us the moment when Dean made it clear he needed a win.

4. You feel Dean’s character hasn’t had enough development

Sam!Girls will tell you otherwise but as a Dean!Girl you can feel like there’s not enough focus on Dean’s development over the years. When I was far more interested in Dean than Sam, I admit that I found the lack of focus on particular storylines annoying. Soulless Sam got half a season but Deanmon got just three episodes. Psychic!Sam got three seasons (when you include the fourth season) but Dean’s deal only got one. It didn’t seem fair.

As a Dean!Girl, you want to see more development and more time on the different characters that Dean plays. You want to see him have a different role for longer and more focus on specific elements of his character.

3. You’re into the bad boy attitude

When you think about the type of guys you like, it’s the bad boys. The ones with the rock music, leather jackets, and kickass attitude. This instantly describes Dean. Technically, Sam should have been the “bad boy” since he was the rebel, but Dean had the give-em-hell attitude and was the one with the bigger rap sheet. Sam was the one that went to college.

If you like the bad boy attitude, it’s Dean all the way. Even if you didn’t realize it yet, you’re a Dean!Girl.

2. Fanfiction needs to have more Dean

Like with the fan videos, you’ll only read fanfiction that involves Dean the most. This can be in all sorts of settings, whether a one-shot on his time in Hell, a fantasy of him with Lisa, Jo, or even Cass, or maybe even a fic of his time before Sam joined him on hunts. As long as it involves Dean, you’re happy.

In fact, the moment that Sam or another character becomes a focal point in the story, you get a little bored. You find yourself scrolling quickly past these sections of the fanfictions, so you can get back onto Dean’s parts.

1. Dean’s lines are the ones you recite all the time

Both main characters have some excellent lines. In fact, even the guest stars have some awesome, memorable lines. “Family don’t end with blood” and “He said ‘shut up’ to me” anyone? Well, when it comes to Dean!Girls, it’s all about Dean’s lines.

You want him to have the funniest lines, thinking it’s more part of his character. When he does have some good one-liners, they’re the only ones you think of in episodes. “That was scary!” and “I’m Batman” are two popular short, funny ones, but what about “Driver picks the music, shotgun shuts his cakehole” or “Saving people, hunting things, the family business?” They’re all ones that you’ll say over and over again–finding a time to bring them up in normal conversations.
