Star Wars: The Clone Wars has been saved, and it’s news that fans of Timeless, Shadowhunters, Sense 8 and other canceled TV shows should be happy about.

Every year at SDCC there is a huge surprise. Star Wars: The Clone Wars was that surprise yesterday as it announced the animated series would return. News that should be a welcoming sign for fans of canceled TV shows like Timeless, Shadowhunters, Sense 8, etc.

And it’s a very simple reason why fans should be celebrating. It’s because Star Wars: The Clones War was saved. That’s all, there is nothing much else to it really.

More from Comic Con

Star Wars: The Clones War was canceled way back in 2013. The decision was not a welcome one and many fans wanted it to be reversed. Sound familiar to all you Timeless, Shadowhunters, and Sense 8 fans?  However no u-turn ever came, and over time, the vast majority of fans thought the series had been and gone, never to return.

Leaving stories unfinished, it seemed like we would never get some of the answers we sought and we would be left to fill in the gaps ourselves. But, after all of these years, it’s back. Star Wars: The Clones War has been saved, and we will be getting some of those answers that we have sought after for so long.

And if this can happen to Star Wars: The Clone Wars then why not Timeless? Why not Shadowhunters? Why not Sense 8? Why not all the other TV shows that should have never been canceled in the first place?

Yes okay, Star Wars: The Clone Wars has the advantage of it being Star Wars and the advantage of the TV rights changing hands, but despite all that, it is still possible for another TV series, like Timeless, Shadowhunters, and Sense 8 to be saved some time after their cancellation. It might take a year, or maybe even ten, but what Star Wars: The Clone Wars proves is that any show can be saved, it might just take a bit of time.

So never stop fighting the good fight. Continue fighting, continue campaigning, and continue your hard work, because one day, it can pay off.
