Will a Carol and Daryl relationship happen on The Walking Dead Season 9?

Promos and press tours for a new season of The Walking Dead embark every summer, and we’re always teased about Carol and Daryl. Will it finally happen in Season 9?

Fans of The Walking Dead are pretty divided when it comes to wanting a relationship to happen between Carol (Melissa McBride) and Daryl (Norman Reedus). Or as shippers refer to them as, Caryl. While some viewers would love nothing more than to see Caryl in a romantic relationship, others just don’t feel it. But Hidden Remote is all for it!

The one thing Caryl shippers are definitely tired of, though? Teasers. Teasers that are lies and don’t lead anywhere! We see it every year. Reedus or McBride joke about it, give us hope. Or a quick scene featuring their characters is included in trailers and promotional photos. Stop it. Give us what we want.

Shippers are not giving up! And The Walking Dead‘s Season 9 trailer has reignited our hope. In the trailer, we see Daryl in front of a tent punching the lights out of someone. Carol emerges from the tent, shouting at Daryl to stop. I may be reading too much into this, but — could they be sharing a tent?! Even if they’re not, they were together here.

Even if you believe the tent scene doesn’t mean anything, there’s no denying this next one! Right at the three minute and twenty-three second mark in the trailer, we see Carol and Daryl staring at the stars. Carol is resting her head on his shoulder and hugging him tight. Cute!

After taking Chandler Riggs’ Carl and with Lauren Cohan and Andrew Lincoln leaving soon, love is what we need! And we may just get it. In an interview with TV Line, new showrunner Angela Kang teased about Daryl’s love life. Sharing:

"“What I will say, is that we will be telling a great story with Daryl this season. He has some really meaty material coming up, so Daryl fans will get their fill.”"

What does that even mean? Let’s hope they don’t burst our bubble yet again! Do you believe Caryl will finally happen this coming season? Are you a Caryl shipper or are you cold and against love? Kidding! To each their own, I suppose.
