The Flash took over Ballroom 20 at San Diego Comic-Con. Here’s what we learned from the panel.

The Flash cast took over Ballroom 20 as the final of the DC shows to make some announcements. The panel began with some new footage and a casting announcement. Chris Klein is set to play Cicada in the upcoming season. Cicada has the ability to absorb the life force of others and was created by Geoff Johns and Scott Kolins in 2001.

Aside from the big bad addition, Barry will be getting his Flash ring, which is a big deal in the comics. We’ll get a look at a new suit, which likely comes courtesy of Cisco.

At the end of season four, Barry and Iris meet their future daughter, Nora. She’ll play a larger role in this season (with the code name XS) and she’ll be closer with Barry than she is with Iris. We’ll even see her in the jacket that Iris wore as a speedster.

More from Comic Con

As always, we can expect more of Harrison Wells, but we’ll have a bit of a different version of him. We can expect plenty of the relationship dynamics to evolve this season, too. Joe and Cecile have a baby to take care of now. Cisco and Ralph will finally start to become friends instead of just colleagues.

Grant Gustin even showed off his “Flash slide” and Sydney Bucksbaum caught it on video. The cast definitely has a lot of fun with the show and their roles. Like we saw in the Supergirl panel, this show will also bring journalism back into the fold more with Iris this season. Barry also has his job back as a CSI.

A big milestone is coming for The Flash with their 100th episode. Tom Cavavagh will direct it. In addition to that milestone, the season promises new deaths and younger Rogues according to Todd Helbing. They’re even shooting for a team up with Grodd and King Shark.

It sounds like they have a lot planned for the new season. Tune in when The Flash returns on October 9.
