TV fans are always on the hunt for the next big series to watch, and Netflix is here to provide! Here are five TV shows coming in August…

Each month, Netflix updates its large menu of selections. So if you’re searching for something new to binge-watch, there’s really no better place than the streaming giant. You can take a look at the entire list of television shows and movies coming to Netflix in August here. With the summer season here, we can avoid the hot temperatures and stay home to Netflix and chill. Shut the blinds and grab your favorite snack, it’s time to get hooked on a series or two!

Here are five Netflix Originals not to miss in August…

Ghoul

A prisoner arrives at a remote military interrogation center. He, however, turns the tables on his interrogators, to uncover many secrets. Ghoul is only three episodes, all being release August 24.

Disenchantment

Are animated shows your thing? What about fantasy? Netflix’s Disenchantment is the one to keep an eye out for! All 10 episodes of the show is released August 17. Synopsis from Netflix: In  Disenchantment, viewers will be whisked away to the crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland, where they will follow the misadventures of hard-drinking young princess Bean, her feisty elf companion Elfo, and her personal demon Luci. Along the way, the oddball trio will encounter ogres, sprites, harpies, imps, trolls, walruses, and lots of human fools.

The Innocents

Two teenagers, Harry and June, in love run away to be together, but fighting to be a couple against all odds only gets worse when they discover June has shape-shifting powers.

Here’s part of the plot from Netflix: As the star-crossed lovers struggle to control this strange new power, a mysterious professor reveals that June is not alone: there are more shifters out there like her, and he promises to cure June and reunite her with the mother who deserted her three years ago. But as their journey becomes increasingly fraught with danger, Harry and June’s love for each other is tested to breaking point and they’re faced with a choice: keep their innocent dream alive, or embrace that their lives have changed and risk everything. The series consists of eight episodes, all coming August 24.

Insatiable

True, there’s a lot of controversy surrounding this show. Some are completely against it, very few are actually excited to see it. Where do you stand when it comes to the show? Whether you look forward to Insatiable or not, you may want to catch a few episodes of the series to see what it’s all about. And if you missed the news about the show, the series follows Patty (Debby Ryan), an overweight high school student who is bullied for her weight. After an accident, Patty becomes very thin and decides to get payback on everyone who made fun of her. The series consists of 12 episodes and premieres August 10.

Ozark

Loved the first season of Ozark? There’s more where that came from! Marty Bryde and his family continue to navigate the murky waters of life within a dangerous drug cartel. Synopsis from Netflix: With Del out, the crime syndicate sends their ruthless attorney Helen Pierce to town to shake things up just as The Byrdes are finally settling in. Marty and Wendy struggle to balance their family interests amid the escalating dangers presented by their partnerships with the power-hungry Snells, the cartel and their new deputy, Ruth Langmore, whose father Cade has been released from prison. The stakes are even higher than before and The Byrdes soon realize they have to go all in before they can get out. The second season is out August 31.
