Bishop had the chance to prove that she makes a good undercover agent in NCIS. Can we see more of that in NCIS Season 16?

During NCIS Season 15, we got to see Bishop and Torres go undercover together. This was clearly to ignite the spark between them, but they were both convincing as a couple. What’s more important is Bishop showed that while she may be sweet and caring in the office, she can be a convincing undercover agent and it’s time to see more of it in NCIS Season 16.

It shouldn’t be that surprising that she can do the undercover work. After all, she’s been through the same training as everyone else and she is a smart woman in every other part of her work. However, it’s easy to overlook her when we see her in the office because she’s often innocent, sweet, and sometimes a little naive.

Here’s why I’d like to see more Undercover Bishop in NCIS Season 16.

There was more confidence behind the character

More from CBS

The start of the season saw Bishop as a  leader. While it eventually was convincing, it was awkward at first. Bishop needed to build her confidence in this role. Yet, when it came to undercover work, the confidence came out.

She could step out of the person she really is and into this different role. It was refreshing to see another side to her and this needs to come out again.

We got more action

As an NCIS fan from the beginning, I’ve always enjoyed the chases, the takedowns, and the stakeouts. We haven’t had as much of that in recent years, especially when it comes to Bishop being part of them. There have been a few, but nothing that stands out.

Undercover Bishop was the exception. She embodied this role and immediately put herself in the middle of the action. The persona continued until the last minute, making it clear that she was ready for anything and could adapt quickly. This made it fun to watch the character in action.

Bishop’s mind was a fortress

Most of the time, it’s easy to tell what Bishop is thinking. You can often read her like a book, whether she’s on a case or it’s to do with her personal life. That changed when she went undercover. Her mind became a fortress and it started to become difficult to know what she was thinking and what she was going to do.

Would she go out and kill an innocent person? How would she make it look like she had to infiltrate the gang? What was she going to do when she had to go against Gibbs? NCIS Season 16 could benefit from more of this.
