Supernatural Season 14 premiere photos: Michael!Dean and Sister Jo meet

Official photos for Supernatural Season 14, Episode 1 are finally out. The selection that show Michael!Dean and Sister Jo meet give me the chills.

Entertainment Weekly shared the first-look images of Supernatural Season 14, Episode 1 earlier this week. Now the stills from the premiere episode are officially out and we have them right here.

I’ve split the images into two posts, as it’s clear we’re getting two distinct storylines in this episode. As Sam, Castiel, and the others search for Michael!Dean, Michael!Dean is starting to put his plan together to purify the Earth.

The first stop is finding angels and he comes across Sister Jo. She’s probably not the best angel to meet, as she’s out for herself and will manipulate if she needs to. Of course, she’s actually the perfect angel to show the state of the whole bunch on this Earth.

They have no leader. All the archangels are now gone, God has left the building, and the angels were even kicked out of Heaven thanks to Metatron. They’re narcissistic creatures that are just out for their own gain–they may as well be demons.

What’s interesting is it looks like Sister Jo hasn’t really been able to turn back to her healer ways. She looks like she’s living on the streets, doing whatever it takes to survive. The suave businesswoman has left the building.

That could be perfect for Michael!Dean. While right now she’s a shell of her former self, she’s much easier to manipulate. She’ll also want revenge and want to see the world a better place. This could be the first person he gets on his side.

What’s super exciting as a Jensen & Danneel Ackles fan is seeing the two on screen together. We got a little bit of time in Supernatural Season 13, but this is a chance to see a full scene with just the two of them. We knew this was coming because Jensen Ackles had shared in the roundtable interview at SDCC 2018 that this was one of his most nerve-wracking scenes. Seeing the two in photos together is exciting.

It certainly looks like while she may not be quite the healer she was, she’ll find her way back. Could that be thanks to Michael!Dean?
