It turns out Lucifer isn’t the only angel that hates humans. Michael hates them too, which is going to be a nightmare for Supernatural Season 14. When did he start hating humans and why?

We’ve known for a long time that Lucifer hates humans. He dislikes their flaws and tempted the first humans to prove that they were God’s flawed creations. However, it turns out he’s not the only archangel to hate humans. Michael does too, according to Entertainment Weekly, which will cause problems in Supernatural Season 14.

Now that Michael is in control of Dean and in Earth-1 (or whatever we’re calling the Winchesters’ world), humans are in extreme danger. This is an archangel with nobody strong enough to fight against him. All other archangels are dead (at least, that’s what it seems) and God is MIA again.

But while this is dangerous, I’m curious as to why Michael hates humans. I looked at why angels hate humans yesterday and came to the conclusion that it’s linked to jealousy. They don’t like the flawed creation that God loves so much.

Is this why Michael hates them, too? It certainly could be!

More from Supernatural

Michael wants a “perfect world.” He wants to purify the Earth and that means getting rid of the humans.

Has this always been the case? It’s hard to tell. When we saw our version of Michael in the form of Matt Cohen and Jake Abel, it was clear he disliked Dean but not really that he hated humans. He wanted the apocalypse to happen because it was always prophecized that way.

Michael was always viewed as the loyal, devoted elder sibling. Dean was his vessel because of their likeness. They worshipped their father and wanted to do well to get the praise.

Could it be that it’s Apocalypse Michael that just hates humans? Did our own Michael tolerate them? Apocalypse Michael won the war in his world and he would have, presumably, learned the truth about God. Knowing that God left the building and abandoned him, his hatred could have turned towards God’s creation.

This is something we’ve seen with Amara. She disliked that God put so much work into Earth that she hated him for it.

Of course, all versions of Michael could have just always hated humans. He may have believed the same as Lucifer but chose not to voice those opinions. We have more similarities between Dean and Michael. Dean didn’t always agree with his dad, but he rarely voiced his opinions until the very end. Michael just knew that he didn’t want the same thing to happen to him as what happened to Lucifer.
